Solomon's Secret

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Solomon's Secret "And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly" (2 Chronicles 1:1)      The Bible tells of Solomon's exploits. It gives a concise exposition of his wisdom, wealth and all-round wellness. He was a great man before God and men. But wouldn't you like to know how he got here?      1 Chronicles 28 shows us the simple principle Solomon followed as revealed by David his father to get to the heights he attained. Verse 7 begins with David reminding the people of what God had told him, saying "And if he continues to obey my commandments and instructions as he has until now, I will make his kingdom last forever" (TLB). And then in verse 9, he goes further to tell Solomon how he can achieve this. He said "...Worship and serve him with a clean heart and a willing mind, for God sees every heart and understands and knows every thought. If you s

God Has A One Person Agenda

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - God Has A One Person Agenda " Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him when he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many." (Isaiah 51:2 AMP)     All through scripture we are told of the God who is interested in- yes -one person. It is His eternal campaign - causing a change in one person because that's always enough to create changes for thousands to come. An exponential increase He specializes in.    The opening scripture tells us that He called Abraham as one man, and blessed him, and through him the world has been blessed. That's why you must never let the numbers outweigh the intention and purpose of God in your heart. It doesn't matter if only a few bunch come to listen to the gospel when you preach it, or if you're the only one present in a Bible class organized for thousands. It doesn't still devalue His plan for you. Every meeting God puts together is always for one person. A thousand pe

The Mighty God In The Midst Of Trouble

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - The Mighty God In The Midst Of Trouble "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4)      The valley of death has always been perceived to be a place of anarchy and torment; a place of brimstone and decay. Ancient mythologies support this claim. However, David said that even if he found himself there, he'd still return unscathed. He said that even in its midst, no one and nothing will be able to harm him because God is with him.      In the book of Isaiah, God reveals what David must have known that made him speak that way. He said "When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up- the flames will not consume you" (Isaiah 43:2 TLB). It might have sounded like a joke to the Je

Never Hide Your Testimony

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Never Hide Your Testimony "I will give You thanks in the great congregation: I will praise You among much people." (Psalm 35:18)     God always wants us to acknowledge what He has done for us before others. He wants us to glorify Him before them, so that they can also tap into that same grace and glorify Him as well. When Jesus healed the ten lepers, and only one returned, Jesus sternly enquired why the nine never returned to show themselves (Luke 17:17-18). Jesus did that not only because acknowledging the good things He has done for us perfects them in our lives and create a bias for more, but because our words of testimony are how He also draws others to Himself (see John 4:28-30).     So, it's really a great disservice whenever we try to hide it. Furthermore, when the hemorrhagic woman touched Jesus to gain her complete restoration, the Bible says "But Jesus told him, 'No, it was someone who deliberately touched me, for I felt healing

Be Careful What You Listen To

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Be Careful What You Listen To "So be careful how you listen; for whoever has, to him shall be given more; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him." (Luke 8:18 TLB)      According to our theme scripture, some things you listen to can cause you to lose certain precious others; while some you listen to can add to them. What you hear affects your life greatly because it has the power to configure your mind and colour your heart, and as a result greatly influence your way of thinking as well as your mode of living. Someone once said that whatever a man will be in five years will be determined by what he reads, whom he associates with, and what he listens to. Little wonder we are cautioned to be very careful as to what we listen to.      So, let me ask you this question: What have you been listening to? How your life has turned out thus far is a function of that. David tells us that he became wiser than his predeces

How To Heal The Sick

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - How To Heal The Sick "And their prayer, if offered in faith, will heal him, for the Lord will make him well; and if his sickness was caused by some sin, the Lord will forgive him." (James 5:15).      A lot of believers pray for people to recover from their illnesses but record little or no result most times, even though the scripture is full of references of how our Lord Jesus and the early Christians healed many. A friend of mine once went to his village, and found a dead baby with people crying as they prepared to bury it. The baby had been sick for days, and on that morning he passed away. On getting there, he went in, asked for time to pray, but nothing happened. This kept him worried until he finally returned home.      When he told me about it, I told him that I had studied the life of Christ, and I know every time He healed a man, it was to glorify God and not to get hailed as a great man of God. And so I asked what his state of mind was at that

There Is Healing Power In Christ

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - There Is Healing Power In Christ "And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him, and healed them all." (Luke 6:19)      Our theme scripture tells us that when everyone touched Jesus, they were healed. That is the first thing I'd like you to know: there's no discrimination with God; anyone can be healed. Any infirmity can be cured. It doesn't matter the city or the condition, it can. And this is true because while these things may seem impossible with men, with God all things are possible.      The preceding scripture tells us that they came from all over to hear Him and in doing so they also got healed of their infirmities; and if a demon was behind it- as is with most sicknesses -He cast them out (v.17-18). So yes, Jesus heals. He acknowledged this when He said healing power had gone forth from Him (see Luke 8:46); but what's much true is that He can-and wants to-heal you. Having believed in Him, divine

Be Willing To Thank God For Nothing

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Be Willing To Thank God For Nothing "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thess 5:18)       You don't need a reason before you praise God. That's what we are told in our theme verse. Anyway just to clear things up, there's always a reason to be thankful; you just have to think well enough. You may not have received the castle you dreamed of, but at least you can be grateful that you still have an earth to build it on.       The lack of its manifestation may not encourage you, but you must keep being driven by your expectations. Remember, we thank God primarily not because of what He has done, but because of what He can do and for whom He is. We thank Him in respect to His person first before His portfolio. So, you don't need a thing before you understand that God is good; however you do need to understand that God is good to freely receive a thing. You see, you may be passing through

Have Faith My Friend

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Have Faith My Friend "Have faith in God." (Mark 11:22)      We have been told for centuries now to have faith in God because it's the only way to withdraw the realities of His realm into ours. However, still it seems as though many of us don't know how to have faith. So, what is faith?      Faith is simply believing God's Word as it is. It never tries to reason its way out of belief. Hebrews 11:11 says "Sarah, too, had faith...for she realized that God, who gave her his promise, would certainly do what he said" (TLB). It is the act of accepting God's Word as the truth and every other appearances as a farce regardless of how real they seem. The house of Abraham did, and they rejoiced at last. By faith, they did all God declared, and were blessed in it. Recall, listening has no blessing on its own unless what is heard is believed and applied (James 1:25). And that's faith!      Second, faith is acknowledging God for whom He

Practice The Love Of Christ

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Practice The Love Of Christ "And may the Lord make your love to grow and overflow to each other and to everyone else, just as our love does toward you. This will result in your hearts being made strong, sinless and holy by God our Father..." (1 Thess 3:12-13 TLB)       Almost everyone wants to know how a man can grow spiritually; well, in our theme verse Paul tells us how. Apostle Peter had told the Jewish Christians in the Gentile nations to grow in [the] grace and [in the] knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18), and as much as every other Christian responsibility we are taught to uphold is great, without walking in love it is all in vain (1 Corinthians 13:2). You see, the Christian was saved by his faith, but is assessed by his works; and every good work is a function of love.      Jesus said that others will know we are His if we love one another (John 13:35). That’s how much love brings forth the reality of our identity in Christ. Anyway, what Pa

Be Covenant-Minded

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Be Covenant-Minded "Remember his covenant forever- The words he commanded to a thousand generations" (1 Chronicles 16:15 TLB)      The Word of God is His covenant to as many as believe. Everything written in it is God's intention for and expectation of us. Remember that we were born by the Word (1 Peter 1:23), and so it is our life. Anyway, in our theme verse, David shows us the secret of overcoming the harsh challenges of life. He said 'When things get tough, I remember the covenant of God towards me'. And we know His covenant is inscribed in His Word. He goes further to explain more, saying that, "This is my comfort in my affliction, thy word quickens me" (Psalm 119:50).      The word "quickens" here means to keep alive and to make alive. He could have used "was" to mean a one time thing, but he used "is"- present tense -to show it is an every time thing he did whenever affliction arose. In other wor

Pray About It

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Pray About It "The Lord God says: I am ready to hear Israel's prayers for these blessings, and to grant them their requests. Let them but ask and I will multiply them like the flocks that fill Jerusalem's streets at time of sacrifice. The ruined cities will be crowded once more, and everyone will know I am the Lord" (Ezekiel 36:37-38 TLB)      This is exactly what Jesus reminded us of; He said that if you haven't gotten what you desire, ask that your joy might be full (John 16:24). Prayer is never a waste of time. It is simply the perfect means to have needs met and problems solved. Apostle James asked the church if anyone in their midst had been suffering? And then gave them the sleek solution they needed. He said "Let him pray" (James 5:13). And yes while it's true that God knows all about our needs before we even say a word; He still wants us to say it, because the Spirit of God works on words.      At the beginning, God sp

Look Up!

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Look Up! "I WILL lift up my eyes to the hills [around Jerusalem, to sacred Mount Zion and Mount Moriah]--From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1-2 AMP)      As I was doing some chores on a certain day, I needed -and a result kept looking for- an equipment all around the place. I searched for some minutes until I finally found that it was simply hanging above. And right there, God spoke to me, saying "Just like that, many are looking for what they need in life all over the place when what they need is just above them". That day I learned a big lesson.      I had been exasperated the whole while, but those words brought me back to myself - at least the me the Word tells me that I am. In the same way, I want you to know that when you get frustrated by the many hardships of life, the greatest help you can ever need isn't merely around you, it's above you. You have to learn to l

Christ: Our Assurance In Times Of Need

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Christ: Our Assurance In Times Of Need "In God we boast all day long, and praise thy name forever. Selah." (Psalm 44:8)      The man in Christ is completely covered. He has the true source to have all his needs met. That's something to be in a frenzy over. The theme verse says "In God we boast all day long". The writer was literally telling us that he took some time each day to brag- but not about himself; about God. Remember, our sufficiency isn't in anything we have, but in whom He is (2 Corinthians 3:5).      This is exactly what  Paul spoke of when he said that "let him that glorieth glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:31). Jeremiah had stated something similar when he asked the people not to boast about their wisdom, strength and wealth, but about their God (Jeremiah 9:23-24); for He is their wisdom, strength and wealth. However, to fully understand this; let's see where the writer was coming from when he stated thi

Get On The Offensive

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Get On The Offensive "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8)       The devil is an adversary; meaning that he is always looking for a means to hamper the smooth materialization of God's will towards His people, either by manipulation or what have you. So, he is always against your manifestation as sons of God on the earth.       But truly can he stop it? Not so, unless you let him. He couldn't stop Jesus, and is in no position to stop us either, unless we fail in understanding. Understanding what? "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God..." (Ephesians 6:12-13).       Life is spiritual, and is indeed truly a warfare; we are in a battlefield. We have been decl

Christ In Your Heart

Image
DAILY VITAMIN - Christ In Your Heart "And this is the secret: Christ in your heart is your only hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27 TLB)        The primary reason why you can be confident of your new status in God is because of that very simple truth- Christ in you. The day you became born again, not of the corruptible, but the incorruptible seed by the Word of God, Christ came into your heart by the Spirit. That day you were sealed as a royal member of the Kingdom of God by the Holy Spirit. And that very same day a newness of life began for you (Ephesians 1:13, 1 Peter 1:23).        However, to get the best of this union you have with God through Christ, you must actively stay conscious of this truth - Christ in you. The day Christ came into your heart, God came into you in His fullness, with the capacity to lead a life that is pleasing and worthy of Him. That's why you can presently live loving Him and for Him.       But it's important you actively, as I said,
