Christ: Our Assurance In Times Of Need

DAILY VITAMIN
- Christ: Our Assurance In Times Of Need
"In God we boast all day long, and praise thy name forever. Selah." (Psalm 44:8)
The man in Christ is completely covered. He has the true source to have all his needs met. That's something to be in a frenzy over. The theme verse says "In God we boast all day long". The writer was literally telling us that he took some time each day to brag- but not about himself; about God. Remember, our sufficiency isn't in anything we have, but in whom He is (2 Corinthians 3:5).
This is exactly what  Paul spoke of when he said that "let him that glorieth glory in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:31). Jeremiah had stated something similar when he asked the people not to boast about their wisdom, strength and wealth, but about their God (Jeremiah 9:23-24); for He is their wisdom, strength and wealth. However, to fully understand this; let's see where the writer was coming from when he stated this. He said "Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow...For thou hast saved us from our enemies..." (v.5-7).
He had seen the strong enemies of his nation defeated completely not by the power of sophisticated weaponry, but by the actions of God. And in this, he realized that he had all they could ever need in Him - protection, provision and production. God could do anything they required at any moment; and he had known that. More so, in Christ, we have been placed at a higher pedestal of glory. Unlike the writer who still waited for some sort of "manna" from heaven for sustenance, we are already there with Him. Scripture says we are seated in heaven in Christ (Ephesians 2:6)- far above situations, principalities and challenges through His power at works in us. Hallelujah!
We are not waiting to be nourished; rather in Christ we are already in the place of nourishment. Little wonder it is said that we have no needs in Christ; for in Him all things that pertain to life and godliness have been given to us (2 Peter 1:3), as well as "all the spiritual blessings in heaven" (Ephesians 1:3). Isn't that something worthy of your boast? Isn't that something worthy of being declared from the mountaintop? It is our identity in Christ; our heritage in Him. Christ already brought God and man together (1 Tim 2:5-6); that's proof enough that He would do much more. It is our assurance that regardless of what be, all things will work together for our good all the time, to the glory of God.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you because I'm complete in you. My needs are met through your Spirit at work in me. You're my hope of glory, my shepherd; and it's you who causes me to triumph in everything I do. And so shall it be forever. Amen.
