Dream It, Believe It, Work It Till It Happens

DAILY VITAMIN

- Dream It, Believe It, Work It Till It Happens

"Because of your faith it will happen." (Matthew 9:29 TLB)

If there's one thing all humans share in common, it's the ability to dream. A lot of folks may never fully use this gift but it's there. Whether untapped or extensively utilized, that potential to create worlds with colours better and brighter than our present ones exist, and if we use it as it should be used new worlds can be formed.

Have you ever wondered why God gave man the capacity for faith? It's because like Him mankind can create the uncreated in this world of the seen from the unseen. Mankind has the ability to see colours that never existed and make them be. To see life out of dead situations and hope from the hopeless. And this is exactly what Jesus showed everyone through His time on earth. Consider everything He did, it was simply an act of defiance against the usual. Against the normality of routine and the commonality of cliches. At Cana, they said wine was finished, but He called forth wine from gallons of water. At other times, He called arms from empty shoulder sockets (Matthew 15:31). He always saw things differently and as a result always had it differently.

So I ask, 'what do you see?' As in, what do you see happening in your life?

I understand things might look bad at the moment, but is that all you presume can ever be?

Jesus said to us, "If you ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14). An open cheque. No limitations other than the fact that it must be in line with His will as John puts it in his epistle (1 John 3:21-24). And as Paul wrote about these things they are, "exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or think." (Ephesians 3:20).

Now, placing the theme verse into perspective in alignment with those scriptures, He is saying if you can have faith enough for a thing, it can be yours. In other words, if we are willing to dream about all He promised us in His word no matter how satirical they seem when we truly think about possessing them in our present condition, and believe that He can help us achieve them, and then go ahead to take the corresponding actions required to bring us closer to their realities, there is no reason why we can't have them.

With God it's about believing in a thing enough to act on it, and that is what faith is. The acting that's borne from the believing. That's why the scripture says without work (the acting) faith (the believing) is dead (James 2:17). And so it is as it is, an act of faith, never a thought of faith.

Hence, what is it you're looking forward to having? Take an act of faith. I don't care how ambiguous or too-good-to-be-true it is, keep dreaming it till you can feel its material manifestation caressing the tips of your fingers, seeing it with your spirit's eyes as yours already, believing that to happen as soon as possible, and doing all that you know you can to make it so. With time, except, God will not let you have it, you must. It is the principle. "Blessed is (s)he that believed: for there shall be a performance." (Luke 1:45).
