- Speak Positive Words Only

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable." (PSALM 19:14)

The words we speak define who we become. They are like the sculptor's chisel, shaping us each day till we are brought into the form of what we always affirmed we were. This is why the things we say matter a lot.

It took God only words to create everything except man. Scripture says He speaks into existence things that were not (Romans 4:17). In the same vein, we can bring into our lives or cast out of it things we don't want through words of affirmation. Little wonder why we'll be judged even by our idle words. Jesus said by our words we shall be redeemed or condemned (Matthew 12:37).

Hence, what have you been uttering about yourself? Remember that you are a being of authority and every word you say is a proclamation, even the negative ones. That's why you need to stop with all the negative words and thoughts and incline yourself to things that bolster, motivate and help you become the version of yourself you want to see. 

I know that this is difficult when we are scared. When we start to judge circumstances based on what we see and not what we believe it can be. I'm guilty of this too. But we can do better. Consider Jesus, born in a backwater town, yet He never stopped seeing Himself as what He always was--the Christ. He didn't say "I don't have anyone to help me. I might as well be a nobody. God was wrong, how does He think I can achieve these things He talks about. I don't have the experience or education. I can't even stay healthy for a whole week. I'm done." No, He didn't. Rather He put it out to the world so much that the religious leaders got fed up with what they perceived as arrogance. But as they say it ain't arrogance if it's true. Jesus being the Christ, Son of God, is true, and so is whatever God says you are.

Therefore, confess it and profess it. That is, say it daily even when the signs aren't encouraging and live/act like it until (1) it either becomes true, or (2) you completely believe it's true. Because this is what really matters. The devil can take away anything from a man if given the chance except that which he holds as sacred in his heart. What he understands and believes. So until you stop believing you are a child of God and cease living as one, Satan knows he hasn't won against you no matter how much hardship he brings your way. This battle is won on the field of faith. It's about believing to the end. That's why he wanted Jesus bowing to him. Because attacking a man is nothing except you have first defeated his mind. The devil wants to conquer your heart and then your mind, because without those two parts of a man in strength he is as good as dead.

You are not as good as dead, I suppose. In fact I believe because I know who you are, who I am. We are children of God, redeemed for victory destined for greatness. Never forget that. Always say it. Always remember. Because it's true. But unless you say and believe it is, you might spend your entire life with experiences that suggests it isn't (Psalm 49:20 KJV).
