-Be Thankful For The Little Things

"No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will foryou who belong to Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:18 TLB)

The little things are those that matter the most. Think about it; how many times have you woken up and sincerely felt like you were given the gift of an extra day? For most people, it's next to zero. They see waking up each morning as a right, a privilege. But is it? No, it's a gift. Each night we go to bed, we sort of die, just with a beating heart though. And the next day, we are raised back. It's a miracle and a gift we mostly overlook. A gift we don't thank God enough for because we are so busy being upset He didn't grant us that new job, that new car, that new house or better yet make our last relationship last longer. We spend so much time being bitter about the things we don't have we forget about the things we do have. For God's sake, you're alive and healthy, believe me, that's more than enough as compared to what most people get. And if you can't thank God for that as He truly deserves, then maybe it's indicative to the fact that you don't deserve what comes next.

Hence, I want you to forget all the wishes and prayers you assume never came to be, and take a minute to consider the things around you. Consider the way you stay healthy and strong often, and if not the way you're still here in the land of the living despite how badly the illness keeps fighting you. Consider the way your family always finds a reason to smile, laugh and enjoy the peace love brings even in gloomy days. The way the sun shines on you. And I want you to thank God for these things. They may seem insignificant to you, but believe me again, nothing is insignificant. When you're dead, you'll understand. In the meantime, now that you are alive, thank God for it all - even the little things. Especially on days like this. Especially on a day that reminds us of how it all began. Thank Him.

DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action. In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition. Most times we get so carried away in climbing the ladder of success that we fail to recognize and notice when there are hands stretching high for us to help lift them up.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
