- If Only You Knew What God's Been Doing For You

"If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:" (Psalm 124:2)

A lot of us don't truly understand the extremity of the goodness of God in our lives. We don't know the things He's done and still does for us--seen and unseen. We wake up each morning and think what the heck! Another day. But if only you could see what happened in those six hours you were insatient. 

The scripture tells us that our warfare is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of darkness in the spirit world (Ephesians 6:12). That means the devil is your fatal foe for life, and each day he's on the lookout for ways to completely make a mess of you. Jesus said his only though for you is to kill, destroy and steal (John 10:10). To ravage us (1 Peter 5:8). But guess who's on the other side making sure you receive life instead of the deathly woes planned? God (John 10:10). In other words, your being alive today isn't by chance, nor is it a mistake. God planned it. He kept you when all was set against you. When this men of darkness rose against you, He stood as a strong tower, sheltering you from their every attack. That is why we came out victorious (see Psalm 118). That is why we escaped as a bird out of their snares (Psalm 124:7). And all of this because God wouldn't give you to their teeth (v. 6).

There is a reason why you are fully healthy now even though the odds were against you. A reason why your marriage made it despite colliding against the rock of tribulations. A reason why your kids turned out alright even when there was no hope of that a few years back. And that reason is that God made it so. He's like a friend who keeps playing his part even when we've grown unfriendly against him. And this He does because He loves when even we fail to return that love. He cannot deny Himself; He is love, He is kind, He is God, and won't be anything less; no! Not for us or because of what we have done or won't do. If it weren't for God, the waters of trouble would have swallowed us up. We would have drowned. But He didn't let us drown. He kept us afloat. He helped us. Through the fire He kept us from burning. Not a single hair was singed. In the floods HE kept us from drowning. No, He lifted us up and set us strongly on our feet (Isaiah 43:2). And that's the real reason why we are alive this morning. Why we've made it this far; because God made it so.

So, what do I want you do? Thank Him, trust Him, love Him. Learn to appreciate that you have a brand new day because God renewed His plans for you. The devil wanted it terminated as he did against Peter and many others, because God defended you. He--the devil--wanted to sift you away as wheat, but God stood for you. That is enough to shut your eyes, open your heart and say with all that's within you "Thank You Lord."

DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action. In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
