- Your Joy Cometh

"...in His favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5)

After every storm comes the peace. It doesn't matter how long it may have lasted, after its final display of fury, peace is ushered in from the horizon. Let's take a case study of Noah's ark. The rains lasted for forty days, the flood for almost a hundred and fifty days; but at the end the sun shone bright again. This is why I can tell you that your sun will shine again.

The opening scripture tells us that your weeping may have lasted for days, nights, years, but when your time comes that weeping will cease. Your marriage may have been heading downhill, your finances may have been downtrodden, but in His favour life will breathed into them again. The dying marriage will receive life, and the dying earning power will be revived. You will find joy again. God will make sure of that.

All you need to do is delight yourself in Him. The scripture says when we do this, God will grant us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4).

Delighting ourselves in God begins with trusting Him. With finding satisfaction in the assurance of His person. In knowing that God is who He says He is. And recall we are told that they who will be blessed of Him are those who first of all believe that He is who He says He is (Hebrews 11:6). Or as Jesus said, those who honour Him (John 12:26).

In other words, if you will stay delighting yourself in Him, He will ensure you get your joy back. He will ensure you get an open cheque to a life of peace and joy. Because when we do this, as revealed in our theme verse, whatever we desire to make our joy full again shall be granted us (John 16:24).

What makes the poor fellow rich in the sight of God is how richly he gives even though in need himself. DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action. In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition. Most times we get so carried away in climbing the ladder of success that we fail to recognize and notice when there are hands stretching high for us to help lift them up.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
