Be Assured, God Will Do It

DAILY VITAMIN

- Be Assured, God Will Do It

"The LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty; He will save..." (Zephaniah 3:17)

The first thing I need you to understand today is that you have a God who has the power to do everything He wills to--even those we count as too impossible. And that is good news, for us. The scripture above shows that.

In other words, it depicts that as far as God abides in and with us, there is nothing that He cannot do for us in line with His will, because that power is always extant. Which as a result means that if He has promised to do a thing for you, He will do it; and nothing and no one would stop it.

Consider the story of Nehemiah. A man whom God constantly placed the burden of the restoration of Jerusalem in his heart. He had no natural influence over the possibility and eventual achievement of that; a mere steward in the palace of a Gentile king. But because God does all He proposes to, Nehemiah found favour before Xerxes and received all that was needed to accomplish the city's repair. But it didn't end there. When threats arose, this same king sent forth security, material and food supplies, and it stayed that way till the vision was realized. Again, who made this happen? God, in whom hands are the hearts of kings (Proverbs 21:1). And if HE could do it for Nehemiah, He can do it for you.

So believe me when I say He's got you if He said He's got you.

David knew this; and thus declared: "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall lack nothing." (Psalm 23:1). Then he goes ahead to describe the marvellous things God had done for him--granting him peace like the still waters, giving him abundance, restoring his spiritual status; and afterward told us why God had done these things. David said it was for "His Name's sake." (v. 3).

You see, God honours His own Name. He protects His reputation. Remember, it is He who says a good reputation is the greatest form of wealth, paraphrased (Proverbs 22:1). So in the same vein, He will do anything to keep His reputation intact. And what is this reputation? That He 's the God who reveals Himself to all who seek Him; who saves all who call on Him; who shows Himself strong on the behalf of those who trust in Him etc. These and more are reasons why despite our flaws He still keeps His Word. Why He still comes through for us. Paul explained it best: he said, "If we believe not, yet He remains faithful: He cannot deny Himself." (2 Timothy 2:13). And this point right here is the very reason why I'm certain He will not disappoint you. Why He will not let you down. Why He won't leave you hanging. Why He will come through for you. Oh yes, He will.

So I say to to you, and please say the same to yourself each morning till it becomes all you permit yourself to believe, if you are just as sure that you'd see His goodness in your life: Wait for the Lord, and He will come and save you (Psalm 27:14).
