Open Your Heart To Receive

- Open Your Heart To Receive

"According to your faith be it to you." (Matthew 9:29)

The Bible tells us that a man born lame from his mother's womb received his healing because he had faith to be healed. A faith so strong it could be perceived (Acts 14:9). And instantly he leapt and never returned to being a cripple again.

Sometimes I think the reason why many of us haven't received is because we haven't truly believed for it even though we've been doing every other thing God wants us doing. Many of us have an attitude of 'if He does it, good; if he doesn't, still good', but God doesn't deal with double-minded fellows. If we must receive from Him, we must come without doubt (James 1:5-7). With a heart that says this or this, and nothing else.

That's why Jesus couldn't do much when Bartimaeus first said that He should have mercy on him. Mercy? That's too ambiguous. Jesus could have spared him some charge and marched on, but that wouldn't be enough, right? So Jesus had to ask him to be specific, and once he was he was whole in that area. He got his sight back (Mark 10: 47-52). This is important because if we aren't specific toward what we want, we won't get it. And believe me this even affected our Lord and saviour Jesus. Luke 9:52 tells us that when His time drew near, He set His face steadfastly toward Jerusalem and no nowher else; but the scripture says in verse 52-53 that when He wanted to spend some time in Samaria, they rejected Him because His face was as though He wanted only Jerusalem. Did you see that? Even the natural forces honour this rule. Samaria wouldn't come to His feet because His heart wasn't set at it. Now do you think what you yearn for will come to you if your heart isn't open to it? Your guess is as good as mine.

In the same way, I need you to be specific this morning. Set your face like a flint toward that desire of yours, and do not take your heart off it as you ask it of the Lord right now, and believe you shall receive. If there's anything God can't resist, it is a sharply targeted faith toward a thing. Most times, it makes God grant His permissive will instead, because He cannot deny faith. For example, He had declared His will for Hezekiah, but because the king wouldn't keep quiet but kept demanding in faith, God changed His mind and granted him fifteen more years (Isaiah 38:1-5). The same happened with Abraham when God had decided against all of Sodom and Gomorrah, negotiating his way in faith till God changed his mind to save ten who were righteous, and that's the only reason why Lot got out alive.

A steadfast, unshaken faith toward a thing does things to God. Everything great that ever happened came as a result of faith; faith so powerful God acknowledged He couldn't submerge its result. Notice what He said of the men in Babel: "Nothing will be restrained from them, which they have believed." (Genesis 11:6). Afterward He brought confusion amongst them, because ordinarily He couldn't just stop them, for that would be against His own principle. His principle that all things are possible to he who believes (Mark 9:23). But wait a minute, if that He said concerning heathens, how much will such power be availed to we who are His children when we pray with such degree of faith in our hearts?

Thus, I urge you to open your heart to receive right this moment. You want a baby and it seems almost impossible? Open your heart and believe it. Hannah did and her story changed for good. You want a great job? Open your heart and receive. As you keep applying, know at the back of your mind and at the forefront of your heart that the heart of all men is in the palm of God, and He directs it as He wills (Proverbs 21:1); granting favour to whomever He will (Daniel 4:17). So, receive what you desire; whatever it is you are believing God for.

I pray for you with the whole of my heart that as you've opened your heart to faith, your life is at this moment opened to possibilities. The uterus that was once called dead receives life; your infertility becomes fertility. That resume that has yielded no good response in the past couple of months is about to land you a great job. God's hand comes upon it, and now it receives grace. Your life receives grace. Things they once said you don't deserve I declare as yours because you've believed God can give it to you. I declare changes, good changes, in all ramifications of your life. In your partner's life, in your children's life, in your parent's life, in your business etc. I believe and I decree that your story changes today. The signs will be evident starting right now. You'd feel it on the inside; believe it because now it is. In a year, expect a kid in your arms, expect a greater paying job. I'm not encouraging you, I'm telling you. Mercy has found you today, and your faith's made you whole. This is your new reality; receive it, it's yours. In Jesus' Name. Amen
