- Fill Your Heart With Grace

"Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so." (Heb 13:9 NIV)

A lot of people think they can be given to God's will by following a set of legalistic rules; but it is not true. The Bible says it is not by power, nor by might, but by His Spirit; because only grace can do this (Zech 4:6-7).

Not of him that willeth nor runneth, it is of the gracious God (Romans 9:16). That's why we are instructed to establish our hearts with grace. And this we do by understanding that we can only please God by faith and walking in the leading of the Spirit. Every other thing you do gives you a sense of perfection, but this is what makes you perfect. 

Remember, it is He who perfected us in Christ, and it is He who makes you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in His sight (Hebrews 13:21). So, if it isn't Him leading, there's no assurance it will please Him.

That's what grace assures. It gives God the room He needs to be Lord in our lives. When we rest in His love, letting Him do His work in us, that's when we are at our best. Recall what Paul said in Romans 9: Those who let Him are never disappointed, because He favours them, but those who try to do it without Him always fail (30-33).

His favour makes our pleasing Him easy and possible; and we take advantage of this favour by letting Him work His will out of us (Phil 2:12-13), obeying Him at every word He speaks.

DAILY VITAMIN - The Power Of I Am "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he" (Proverbs 23:7)        There's nothing more powerful than self-affirmation, especially when it is on the basis of who and what the Word of God says you are. This is what Jesus lived on every day. The Jews may not have believed Him, Pilate may not have either, but He knew He was the Son of God, and never stopped saying it. With this understanding, He stood above every situation in time just as the Son of God would.        On the contrary, a lot of people have been declared sons but yet live like slaves. This is because even though the Word affirms it to be true, God can never bless you beyond what you think of yourself. Psalm 49:20 says "Man that is in honour, and understands not, is like the beast that perishs". Your level of understanding about your identity is usually the extent of exploits you can get out of it. You can only become what you know, accept and believe is true.
