- Why Are Things Going Wrong?

"And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?" (2 Chronicles 7:21)

Have you noticed your life going downhill? Be it in your finance, relationship or health? Well, while there can be many reasons behind it--some as a result of your actions, while others not as a result; but one basic factor that has proven throughout time to be a major cause of this is the abandonment of God. "And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them." (2 Chronicles 7:22).

When men desert God, things lose their place, including himself. In the days of the biblical judges, whenever Israel deserted God, raiders ruined them. These raiders are not primarily human enemies, they are more of eternal enemies called demons. These beings ravage such lives that put God out.

Isaiah prophesied that such men will have their largest cities plundered to nothing because they turned from the God who can save them (Isaiah 17:9-11). However he says if such men will return to God, the plunderers will be put out forever. Their terror will suddenly be turned to deliverance (v.8,12-14). That is practically the same thing God told Solomon; that if His people will return, He will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Thus, right there where you are, do a quick appraisal of your life. Are you putting God out of your life in anyway? That only creates more room for the evil one to take a place in your situation. But when you choose to stay in God's secret place always the terrors of the evil one will have nothing on you (Psalm 91). They had nothing on Christ, they will have nothing on you too.

DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
