Don't Be Scared, Trust God

DAILY VITAMIN

- Don't Be Scared, Trust God

"O my soul, why be so gloomy and discouraged? Trust in God! I shall again praise him for his wondrous help; he will make me smile again, for he is my God!" (Psalm 43:5 TLB)

In Isaiah 40, God was speaking to His people including you and I, and He asked "O Jacob, O Israel, how can you say that the Lord doesn’t see your troubles and isn’t being fair?" (v. 27 TLB). Then He tells us that if we are frightened in the situation we might be facing. It is because we don't yet understand Him. He says if it is by strength even the strong will faint, but it is not; He gives the strength needed and the deliverance desired, and that the only way to access it is by trusting Him fully (v.28-31).

Remember what Zechariah wrote. He said Zerubbabel will overcome not by power nor by might, but by the grace of God (Zech 4:6-7). Grace is God stepping in to do what He declared when our abilities were no use; and He assures us He will do the same in these tough times. But we got to trust.

David said to himself, "Take courage...Do you remember those times when you led a procession to the temple..." (Psalm 42:4-5 TLB). He was saying if God could do it then, He can do it now. So, I'm saying the same to you, remember. And if that's not enough, see what God says in response to the question He asked in Isaiah 40:27. "Who has stirred up this one from the east, whom victory meets at every step? Who, indeed, but the Lord? God has given him victory over many nations and permitted him to trample kings underfoot and to put entire armies to the sword. He chases them away and goes on safely, though the paths he treads are new. Who has done such mighty deeds, directing the affairs of generations of mankind as they march by? It is I, the Lord, the First and Last; I alone am he." (Isaiah 41:2-4 TLB).

Hence, if God could do all that: make Cyrus conquer even in new territories, cause him to trample upon his challenges. He can do the same and more for you. You just got to trust (v. 8_16). You just have to lay your heart open like the widow of Zarephath. There is a stream about to pour from high plateaus of abundance (Isaiah 41:18). With faith, receive it. Amen.
