God Walks As we See Him

- God Walks As we See Him

"Therefore hath the Lord recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright; With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward." (Psalm 18:24-26)

I love this scripture because it is how God taught me the most important lesson of life. A hard lesson: that God walks with us according to how we see Him. It says He recompensed me according to my righteousness. That means He gave me according to what I put in. This is somewhat like how a bank works. You can only take out a similitude of what you put in. And so, says, to the merciful, He shows Himself merciful; to the froward, He shows Himself froward.

So you see, God doesn't mind showing Himself as froward if that's how you see Him. In the parable of the talent, the last servant saw Him as a hard master, and what did He do? Show Himself hard--took all he had and gave it to another. Now imagine if he had seen God as merciful. I can tell you that it would be different; because in the parable of the wicked servant, He forgave him when he came with that belief.

In the same way, if you see God as He who loves to see you suffer, He will show Himself as that; and if you see Him as He who makes rich those who believe He can, He will. It's a hard truth, but it is true. How you see God determines what you get out of Him.

So, change your perspective of God. Abraham saw a Jireh and he experienced the same. Moses saw a Nissi and experienced the same. In the same vein, if you see God as weak before your problems, it will be so, but if you see Him as above it, that's also exactly how it will be. Nothing limits God than the picture you have of Him, and nothing gives Him the room to do abundantly than the same. Notice how David saw God in Psalm 18:28-50 and judge if that wasn't how his experiences in life turned out. You too can determine your experiences in life by defining properly how you see God.
