- God Has Expectations

"Happy are all who search for God and always do his will, rejecting compromise with evil and walking only in his paths." (Psalm 119:2-3 TLB)

As was said to the Marvel character, "With [the desire for] great power comes great responsibility". You see it's easy to shout "God is too faithful to fail," but are you? Are you too faithful to fail Him? Everything Jesus came to do was to create a two way relationship. So, it is not about what God can do, it's about what God and you can do.

There's an expectation He has of you and that defines everything. Yes, He has blessed us with the free gift of grace, but to have grace work as intended, there is something He expects of us every day. And that is called faithful devotion.

Remember Hebrews 6:10, He will not forget you not because of what He has done, but because of your works and labour of love. There is a lifestyle He encourages you to put up to attract all the blessings He has declared yours. This is why prophecies are conditional. There is always an IF or UNLESS clause attached. Study Deuteronomy 28. But for today's devotion, let's consider Zechariah 6:15: "But none of this will happen unless you carefully obey the commandments of the Lord your God.” (TLB).

But God isn't worried about that because He knows you can meet the demand. Remember, you are different now. A typical human has a life source in the blood, but you have one in your spirit sponsored by His Spirit. So He is sure you can do it. And what are these? For a life of thorough peace, He tells us to rely on Him wholeheartedly (Isaiah 26:3), encouraging peace and mercy where we can (Matt 5:7-9). For a life of abundance, He tells us to be generous (Luke 6:38, 2 Cor 9:6-14) etc. In other words, there are secret expectations to facilitate the possession of certain things with God. Moses knew this; that's why we are told he knew the ways of God while others only saw the acts. Therefore, today give yourself to know His ways, and as you follow it you will find your life turn around in that moment.

DAILY VITAMIN  There is a difference between giving and giving generously. Generosity is more than just how much you give, but how hearted you do. What makes the poor fellow rich in the sight of God is how richly he gives even though in need himself. DAILY VITAMIN - See It God's Way "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt. For instance, when the sons of Jacob conspired to kill Joseph, to them it was the perfect way to get rid of the 'big dreamer' that made them all look like vision-less fellows, and had taken their father's affection from them; so they took it upon themselves and agreed that they were totally correct in their intended evil action. DAILY VITAMIN What's the most important thing to you in life? Think for a while before you answer. And you can take as long as it takes. Alright! Are you ready now? Let's continue. In everything you do always remember that love comes before ambition. Most times we get so carried away in climbing the ladder of success that we fail to recognize and notice when there are hands stretching high for us to help lift them up.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
