Trust God, Not Your Ideas

DAILY VITAMIN

- Trust God, Not Your Ideas

"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!" (Proverbs 3:5-7 MSG)

A lot of us try to convince God to hurriedly help with great ideas we believe will well work out His plans best. But guess what? Before they were your ideas, they were first His. So there's no way your ways can outdo His.

You have to trust that He has a perfect plan for you. If scripture says eyes have not seen it, ears have not heard it, nor minds imagined it (1 Cor 2:9), then what makes you think your plans for a great future can outshine His? you see, with God all you need to actualize the vision He placed in your heart concerning your life is trust. All you need is a heart that trusts Him more than it fears appearances.

Trust the process and learn to follow Him, doing all He moves you to. He will fulfill His Word. If He has promised you a certain future and things still seem bleak or out of touch, trust Him still. Like a dream overnight, you'd be shocked to see it when it happens as said. That's how Israel felt (Psalm 126:1). They doubted it for too long that it became surreal to them when it finally happened.

Your ideas can only take you as far, but it takes God to get to the precious cusp of your expectations. That's something only God's Word can do for you. And to let God's Word actualize this for you, you have to learn to trust Him. Psalm 37 advises us to trust in the Lord instead (v. 3 TLB). Instead of what? Instead of our own vain ideas of how to do things; and it says when we do this, we would bring our desires according to His Word to manifestation. "Be delighted with the Lord. Then he will give you all your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will." (v. 4-5 TLB).
