God's Word Is Not Ordinary

DAILY VITAMIN

- God's Word Is Not Ordinary

"For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our innermost thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are." (Hebrews 4:12 TLB)

The world we are told was created through the Word (Hebrews 11:3). In fact, everything God made, He did through the Word. Angels and the very universe; all were made from the Word. And God says He is as much His Word.

Now, if the Word which became flesh to redeem all did all these, what makes you think it can't do what God intend to do in your life. Isaiah 55:11 says "so also is my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to and prosper everywhere I send it." (TLB). It can.

As our theme verse says, it can cross borders to do anything. The Word can injure the heart of the sinful and heal the heart of the broken. It is that powerful in all ways and all forms. In the same vein, it can raise a man and bring another down. Jesus said some will be crushed by this rock while others will be broken by it. And that's what the Word does.

You see, when we study and meditate on the Word, there is an exchange between our spirit and God's Spirit, thus revealing who we are and whom God says we are. This is why the man James spoke of can see his hidden nature through it and the other can be transformed by it till he prospers in all (James 1:22-25). It has transformative power. It is how we grow to become like God practically; hence the reason why He urges us daily to stay on the Word.

To Joshua, He said "Constantly remind the people about these laws, and you yourself must think about them every day and every night so that you will be sure to obey all of them. For only then will you succeed." (Joshua 1:8 TLB). Because it is the clearest way to receive God's realities into our lives. So, when you study the Word, don't see it as just a book. Remember, the Bible is the book that contains the Word of God; hence the Word isn't just stories, it is a spiritual experience held within the confines of stories. It is God's breath and active force made readily available to every man - even you.
