You Will Have An Answer For Your Enemies

- You Will Have An Answer For Your Enemies

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows." (Psalm 23:5 NIV)

Rise up, O Lord my God; vindicate me. Declare me “not guilty,” for you are just. Don’t let my enemies rejoice over me in my troubles." (Psalms 35:23-24 TLB)

When Moses went in to Pharaoh requesting he let the people of God depart, Pharaoh asked him precisely "And who is Jehovah that I should listen to him, and let Israel go?" (Exodus 5:2 TLB). That might have been your case thus far. The enemy might have been mocking you, asking when God will deliver you, but guess what? Today, God Himself will give you that answer with a mighty deliverance.

Hannah said "How I rejoice in the Lord! How he has blessed me! Now I have an answer for my enemies." (1 Samuel 2:1 TLB). Today, God will give you an answer as well. The Bible says Peninnah mocked Hannah year after year because she was barren, but God answered on her behalf. He gave her Samuel and five more children. His testimony in her life silenced Peninnah for life; the same way, His mighty miracle in Egypt through Moses silenced Pharaoh for good. The same thing happened to David. Goliath mocked him; even his other enemies did saying he was hopeless since they had wreaked the foundation of His Kingdom, but he answered saying 'The Lord is in His holy temple and still rules' (see Psalm 11) and we know how God responded at all times. In fact, at a point David said "Arise o God, and let my enemies be scattered" (Psalm 68:1); and we see God do that over and over again.

He also did the same in the life of Hezekiah. Sennacherib mocked him, saying no god had ever withstood him, but God did not just withstand him. God embarrassed him him in one night and destroyed him completely on another (2 Chronicles 32).

In the same vein, God will respond to your enemies. 1 Samuel 2:9-10 says "He will protect his godly ones, but the wicked shall be silenced in darkness. No one shall succeed by strength alone. Those who fight against the Lord shall be broken; He thunders against them from heaven. He judges throughout the earth. He gives mighty strength to his king, And gives great glory to his anointed one.” (TLB).

But here's how you ensure that: Trust in the Lord, both in word and deeds (Mark 5:36). That's what Moses displayed when he went forth at God's Word. That's what Hannah showed when her countenance brightened at His Word. That's what David taught all through his Psalms; and here's one: "Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act! Keep traveling steadily along his pathway and in due season he will honor you with every blessing, and you will see the wicked destroyed." (Psalm 37:34 TLB). Yes! It will not be hidden. They will all see the Lord's justice on your behalf and know what a great God you serve. "Your innocence will be clear to everyone. He will vindicate you with the blazing light of justice shining down as from the noonday sun." (Psalm 37:6 TLB).
