- Receiving True Riches

"If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches ?" (Luke 16:11)

Jesus said that if we are not trustworthy with the wealth of this material world, we can never receive the true and incorruptible riches. He speaks of such people as being spiritually wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked (Rev 3:17). However, the good news is that He showed us how to receive this riches He offers. In verse 18 of Revelations 3, He advises us to buy pure gold (TLB). That's how we evade the wretchedness, misery and poverty; and says then true riches will come.

But what is this pure gold we must seek and buy? Devotion to God. The Bible says set your desires on things above (Colossians 3:2). That's how we purchase this pure gold. Matthew 13:44 tells us of a man who sold all he had for a precious field and its treasure, speaking of the Kingdom. In the same Matthew 6:33, we are told to seek God's Kingdom first, and then we will receive the true riches.

Paul said this riches are available to us in Christ as planned from the beginning (Ephesians 3:8-9), but what I just showed you is how you possess it here on the earth. As you do this, your nakedness will vanish and the blindness will end. It all begins with putting God first. The disciples did the same when Jesus sent them out and their report confirmed it: "lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.” (Luke 22:35)

What makes the poor fellow rich in the sight of God is how richly he gives even though in need himself. DAILY VITAMIN Decisions made out of anger or envy are not only self destructive, but they also affect the attitude of those we seem not to desire their hurt.   DAILY VITAMIN - Actions Speak Loudest “Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5:16 TLB) It was 4:30 p.m., sometime in late January 2015. The students were crowded en masse for Laboratory Practice registrations. Everybody was there; the sleek guys and girls, and the geeks as well. And also there was myself, and my very good friend Earnest. We were both members of the Christian Community on campus; but Earnest was the more vocal kind. Well, on this day, the hall was replete with students and the process slow, but eventually it got to our turn. The Registration Officer (R.O) requested for the required fee and documentation and thus signed me up; however when it was Earnest’s time to get registered, he failed to ask for the fee.
