You Lose Nothing With God

DAILY VITAMIN

- You Lose Nothing With God

"The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing" (Psalm 34:10)

The scripture assures us that they that trust in the LORD and seek Him shall not lack any good thing. And just while some might want to water down the potency of that promise by saying He was talking about our life in eternity, Jesus came and made it clear to all.

Peter had asked Him about what would be the lot of those who appeared to have lost a lot for His sake; and He said "Verily I say unto you, There is no man that has left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, who shall not receive manifold more in this present time and in the world to come life everlasting" (Luke 18:29-30). He said there is no man and never will be.

God takes good care of His own, and He will take care of you. Remember He is the good Shepherd, and the shepherd ensures you lack nothing. In that scripture, Jesus was literally saying that everything you thought you had lost would be restored unto you. Doesn't that remind you of what Joel said? "He will restore the years that had been eaten" (Joel 2:25), because He will cause you to have abundantly beyond all you had lost (v.23-27).

This is the story of the children of Zion, and you are one of them. So don't fret my dear; that dream you thought you had lost out on because you chose to follow God shall soon find you in its full materiality. The connections and favours you assumed you missed out on shall soon surround you; because in God we can't lose more than He gives. However this mustn't be why we serve Him. We must serve Him because we love Him; and for those who love Him, He promises to manifest Himself and His blessings to them (John 14:21). God knows no loss, and we who love Him know none as well.

Let this encourage you today that God will restore double unto you in due time (Zech 9:12).

"For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them" (Isaiah 61:7).
