Victory Through Christ

 DAILY VITAMIN

- Victory Through Christ

"For the Lord your God has arrived to live among you.  He is a mighty Savior. He will give you victory. He will rejoice over you in great gladness; he will love you and not accuse you". Is that a joyous choir I hear? No, it is the Lord himself exulting over you in happy song: "I have gathered your wounded and taken away your reproach" (Zephaniah 3:17-18 TLB)

The scripture tells us that this is the victory that overcomes the world even our faith- in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:4). Many do not understand that, and if they only did, they will be unmoved in the face of tribulation like Mount Zion (Psalm 125:1).

Well, let's consider what the Spirit wrote many years before Jesus' arrival through Zephaniah to fully comprehend what that means. He said "Sing... Be glad and rejoice. The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the King of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more" (Zephaniah 3:15).

A lot of us assume that He spoke of the last day, but He simply was speaking about the day of Christ; for in Christ God dwells among-and in-us, and our sins He remembers no more. However, if these are true, then why does it say that we shall see no more evil when Christ Himself said we will have many tribulations in this world? While Jesus said we would have tribulations, He never said they would surmount us. On the contrary, He admits we will overcome them because He has (John 16:33). And that's what Zephaniah wrote in the next verses. He said "He is a mighty Savior. He will give you victory" (v. 17 TLB). He said He would give glory to those who had once suffered mockery (v. 19). And all this God fulfills in Christ,  and now that Christ dwells in you,  it is your rightful experience.

Little wonder why Paul calls Christ in you your hope of glory (Col 1:27); because it is He who gives you glory even in gory situations. So, never forget, your victory in Christ is sure....  Cheer up and fear not.

Confession:

My victory through Christ is certain; for I am more than a conqueror by virtue of His love towards me. Everything answers to me as it does to Him. Yes, I walk in His victory, above all things far and wide, for as He is, so am I in this world, to the glory of God. Amen
