God Is Within Reach

 DAILY VITAMIN

- God Is Within Reach

"His purpose in all of this is that they should seek after God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him- though he is not far from any one of us." (Acts 17:27 TLB)

God is not far away. And that's a good thing. But the greater thing is that according to our theme scripture, He isn't far away not only to believers, but to everyone altogether. Now, let me explain to you why that is great news; and I will start with why it is for the unbeliever.

This is good news for the unbeliever because it means (s)he isn't completely lost yet; (s)he can still be found. God hasn't given up on them. That's the picture Jesus wanted us to see in the Parable of the lost son. When he returned, he found his father awaiting with open arms. In the same way, God is everly waiting for the lost to return, but they have to make the choice to return.

2 Peter 3:9 says that He is patient with everyone that are lost so that they can also be saved. And He is because "God tolerated man's past ignorance about these things, but now he commands everyone to put away idols and worship only him. For he has set a day for justly judging the world by the man he has appointed, and has pointed him out by bringing him back to life again" (Acts 17:30-31 TLB).

God has set up a standard in judgment - and He is Christ; and no one who lives devoid of Him can ever escape that judgment. It says He will judge in righteousness by Christ, and so only those who have been made righteous through faith in Christ are delivered from that day of wrath; and even today anybody can be part of it. Including that friend or relative of yours. All they have to do is accept Jesus' call unto salvation.

Now, for the believer, this is great news because it assures us that we are not alone. God said that persecution of all forms will rise against us, yet He also promised He will never leave nor forsake us. Not even for a second. And here He is saying that we would continuously find Him whenever we seek Him.

Remember, He has given us of His Spirit and shall be with us-and in us-forever (John 14:16). So, you can be sure of one thing- God is closer to you than you can ever imagine.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank you because you have never left me nor forsaken me even for a second. Even when I stray away, you are always there to bring me back to your holy presence; to help me know you more,  as well as all that are connected to me. You bring us all to the full knowledge of your Son Jesus that we may live in power just as He does, all to your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen.
