God Hates Lies

DAILY VITAMIN

- God Hate Lies

“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.” (Revelations 22:15)

In the story of Ananias and Sapphira, the problem wasn’t that they sold their lands or didn’t. The problem wasn’t also that they didn’t bring the full price of sale; the problem was that they claimed to have brought the full price of sale (Acts 5:2). They lied, and God hates lies.

In our theme verse, we see how God categorizes lying with other despicable sins. Anyway, that’s because to Him, they are all same. There is no white lie or cheeky lie with God. Whatever is not truth is a lie. And nowadays, we don’t preach this because this era has made lying a norm. When you seek to avoid someone, you lie, but to you it’s simply nothing. Well, my friend, it’s more than nothing.

I have had my own share of lies, and every day I ask the Holy Spirit to help me stop it. He is called the Spirit of Truth; and of God it is said that He cannot lie (Hebrew 6:18). Thus, how can we have Him dwelling in and with us and still relish in lies? Jesus never lied. He deliberately chose not to answer some enquiries at some point, but He never lied, because He just couldn’t. And He expects the same of you. Only the devil and his people enjoy lying (John 8:44); not you.

The truth doesn’t kill. It might hurt feelings; it might bruise your ego. But it won’t kill you. And more than anything, it awakens you to the reality that you may have been in denial of. And understand that no matter how fast you think you are, you can’t outrun the truth; because the truth always prevails.

Hence, always speak truth, and let it liberate you. No matter what it costs, choose to speak truth at all times, for it pleases God (Proverbs 12:22).

Confession:

My heavenly Father despises lies because He is Truth. He has given me His Spirit of Truth and now I live above all that is not truth. I live by the Word, speak the Word and act the Word every day. It liberates me and empowers me to live in the reality of His glory. Blessed be God!
