How To Be Saved

DAILY VITAMIN
- How To Be Saved
"I say emphatically that anyone who listens to my message and believes in God who sent me has eternal life, and will never be damned for his sins, but has already passed out of death into life." (John 5:24 TLB)

For centuries, men have been in pursuit of some sort of assurance of eternal bliss. The Easterners term it Nirvana, and many others what they choose; a place of bliss. Men of many culture have always wanted answers to the uncertainty of eternity with little or no progress in that; but Jesus came and He gave us the answer.

According to the scripture above, He declared that if any man believes His message of salvation and thus in God through Him, he already has an assurance of life in eternity. He also says his past sins won't impede it, because in God's sight, he has passed out of death into life.

Let me explain that to you. Do you know how a lot of people never graduate because they can't pass certain courses? Well, God says that by salvation, you already passed the course - a waiver that came through Christ's redemptive work. And how did we get here? By believing the Word - the Word of His grace (Romans 10:9-10). It's the primary way to satisfy God. John 6:28-29 says "They replied, 'What should we do to satisfy God?' Jesus told them, 'This is the will of God, that you believe in the one he has sent." (TLB).

Hence, when people ask you how they can be saved, as Nicodemus asked Jesus, preach the Word to them, and tell them if they believe it and accept the Lordship of Jesus, then they are saved. Jesus secured our eternal salvation- what nothing else could do (Hebrews 9:10-12). And if we believe that, we have received that. "How earnestly I tell you this- anyone who believes in me already has eternal life." (John 6:47 TLB).

It is an eternal transaction. Don't worry, your past sins won't impede it; for "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, and all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). Hallelujah!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for saving me in Christ Jesus. I pray that even as I spread your Word to others as well, you save them too, to the glory of Jesus' Name. Amen.
