You Can Live Above Mistakes

DAILY VITAMIN
- You Can Live Above Mistakes
"...and they began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling his affairs so that they could complain to the king about him. But they couldn't find anything to criticize! He was faithful and honest, and made no mistakes." (Daniel 6:4 TLB)
There is something consistent with God's people, and that is the capacity to live free of mistakes and errors. A lot of us think it is impossible to live free of errors. That may be statistically accurate based on human analysis; but that's not what the scriptures teach. The Bible says that the Jewish leaders sought for ways to entrap Jesus, but each time He was always a step ahead of them. They brought questions that seemed difficult to catch Him unawares, hoping He would flop at them so they could accost and criticize Him before the people, but it was them who kept failing and flopping in their attempts. The devil also came in search of something he could accuse Him with, but found nothing.
That is exactly what our theme verse says. They sought for a way to make Daniel look bad, but they couldn't find anything to criticize. It says he was faithful, honest and was error free. He didn't make a single slip to make him fall; and while many may question its possibility, God proves it every day.
Do you know why that is so? It's the same reason why Jesus achieved the same feat, and why you can. The scripture says that "If you leave God's path and go astray, you will hear a voice behind you say, "No, this is the way; walk here" (Isaiah 30:21 TLB). God's Spirit is constantly in charge of guiding His people, if they'd be willing to yield. Jesus says that He will not abandon us like orphans, but will take care of us and lead us into all truth and all the right places (John 14:16-18). And here's the greater part; we don't even need to go astray first, for He can keep us from falling (Jude 1:25).
Remember, Daniel could only enjoy a glimpse of this since the Holy Spirit was not fully made manifest in his dispensation. Yet he was called the man in whom the spirit of the gods dwell to reflect the possibilities that are ours in these days of His revelation. Now, think about this: Now that He resides constantly with and in us, imagine how much more we can enjoy of this glorious privilege? Scripture says "shall we not expect far greater glory?" (2 Corinthians 3:8). Of course, we do and shall walk in much greater glory; for now we have received Him and do know all things (1 John 2:20). That means we can live knowing what to do every time we need to; thus making less mistakes or none at all, depending on how much we turn His guidance into action. But understand that this doesn't in any way compensate for our being indolent; we have to be diligent in all we do and learn (1 Tim 6:1).
With all these as constants, by living as directed by Him, we can -and will indeed- be capable of living an error-free life. This might sound absurd to you, as well as the many similar things the Bible speaks of. Well, the Bible isn't a handout for the natural man; it is for the spiritual man. Because with the normal capacities and understanding of man, it is impossible; but with the capacities and understanding of God, all these things are possible. Glory to God!

Confession:
I can do all things through Christ. I have access to all knowledge through the guidance of the Spirit. Through Him, all truths are revealed to me; and as I walk in them precept upon precept, my ways become perfect. Yes, this is possible, for Jesus keeps me from falling and failing. Hallelujah!
