What Jesus Did For Us

DAILY VITAMIN
- What Jesus Did For Us
"Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ." (Galatians 4:7 AMP)
In Hosea 1, the prophet speaks of how God rejected Israel. He spoke of how He had decided not to show them mercy anymore nor claim parentage over them. However in verse 11, it is said "Then the people of Judah and Israel will unite and have one leader; they will return from exile together; what a day that will be- the day when God will sow his people in the fertile soil of their own land again." (TLB)
In the Old Testament times, that was prophecy, but now it is our reality. It has been fulfilled. Jesus fulfilled it; He brought that time that was prophesied to come. Galatians 4:3-6 says "And that is the way it was with us before Christ came. We were slaves to Jewish laws and rituals for we thought they could save us. But when the right time came, the time God decided on, he sent his Son, born of a woman, born as a Jew, to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that he could adopt us as his very own sons. And because we are his sons God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, so now we can rightly speak of God as our dear Father." (TLB).
This is what He did - He took a bunch of rejected folks as we were before the eyes of God and made us jewels in His sight. This is what Isaiah spoke of when he said the outcast shall be called beloved; a diadem in the hands of the King (Isaiah 62:3-4). And this alone proves that what Jesus gave us is beyond redemption. He also gave us justification, glorification and a new identification in Himself. Now when God looks at us, He doesn't see the goryness of our sins, He sees the beauty of Christ's righteousness.
Well remember that we don't own the righteousness; it's a gift - His gift to us; and a gift we become in Christ Jesus. We simply have to embrace and walk in this new identity. This changes everything. And this is because it ensures that every time we wake up, we understand that we are not what others say we are nor how they treat us, but whom God has shown we are in Christ - His beloved. And that's not just a fact; it's our truth.

Confession:
In Christ, I'm all God wants me to be. This is because by the redemptive work of Jesus I have been brought to a new level where I naturally live as the God-kind. He changed my entire life. First, He set me from the shackles of sin, death and Satan forever. And then, made me a part of His Kingdom, and an heir of the Most High, to the glory of God. Hallelujah!
