Walking In The Light Of Christ

DAILY VITAMIN
- Walking In The Light Of Christ
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:7)
Jesus told the residents of Jerusalem that they wouldn't see Him again until they say welcome to him who comes in the name of the Lord (Luke 13:35). For many years I thought Jesus was referring to Himself - that is, His second coming; but He wasn't. He was referring to His person; and guess what? We carry His person in us. And so, even after Jesus died He was still very much present in Jerusalem healing as many as needed help through His disciples - thereby keeping His promise.
As the people embraced the disciples, they experienced the liberating power of the person of Christ (Acts 6:7). And He still does that today through us. That's what our theme scripture tells us- we are as much Him in the world today as He is. And who ensured that? He did. He said as the Father sent Him, so also He has sent us (John 17:18).
Note, He didn't just deploy us to continue His work without any internal reinforcement. No! He didn't. He gave us all of Himself via the Holy Spirit. He said He would send us another comforter of the same kind and quality as He (i.e Paracletes), and He did; thus giving us the capacity to do all He did and the be all He is.
Recall He had said He is the light of the world (John 8:12); to prove these words He also then said "Ye are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). We are a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden as He is. Everyone saw Him and were amazed at all He did (Mark 7:37); we carry the same potential energy as well to produce such amazement to the glory of God. We just have to understand that this is our new identity in Him. Remember the worlds are out of course in darkness because men don't understand. Understand what? That in Christ, they are gods and sons of the Most High (Psalm 82:5-6).
Even Jesus made it part of His everyday conversational repertoire with His people; "Know ye not that ye are gods?" And it's the same He still does with us. Therefore, if you do, then live like He did. Hallelujah!

Confession:
I am a child of the light. I reside in the unending light of God’s kingdom, where I reign with Christ in dominion, glory and power. This heritage primarily registers in me the right to exercise a life free of lack, oppression, sickness and failure. Because Jesus was never sick, never lacked, never was oppressed, and never failed- and because as He is so I am also in this world, I live every day above these limitations to the glory to God. Hallelujah!
