God Wants Your Mind

DAILY VITAMIN
- God Wants Your Mind
"And be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind" (Ephesians 4:23)
God is very much interested in your mind as much as He is in your spirit. Many people are saved, but they can't appropriate the reality of their salvation in their everyday lives. They claim to feel God, but they don't know Him. God resides in our spirits, but with the consciousness of our mind we learn to know Him.
Romans 12 says "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God" (v.1-2).
God understands the value of the mind, and so does the devil. He knows it can either impede or promote your fellowship with the Spirit. Little wonder why Satan tries so hard to set up strongholds in our minds (see 2 Corinthians 10:5). He knows he can't capture our spirits anymore, for it has been redeemed in Christ, and so he goes after the mind- knowing that unless the mind agrees with the spirit in fellowship with God, a great disconnect may yet exist. And so God tells us to worship Him with all our heart [translated spirit], all our soul, and all our mind (Matthew 22:37). He wants our entire tripartite being surrendered to Him; which is something the Jewish elders didn't do.
The scripture says "Seventy elders of Israel were standing there...worshiping the pictures... Then the Lord said to me: 'Son of dust, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in their minds? For they say, 'The Lord doesn't see us; he has gone away!" (Ezekiel 9:11-12 TLB). They might not have seemed to be committing idolatry physically, but God was saying that they were because it was the reality they had allowed into their minds. Remember what He says, they serve Him with their lips but their hearts (and mind) are far from Him (Mark 7:6).
Thus, surrender your mind to Him. And how do you do this? By the Word. Give yourself to the Word today. Think on it, meditate on it, act on it; it will renew and cleanse your mind until you think only of God. Think on the Word; fill your mind with it; for as we are told, "keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23). Think on those things that are of good report, excellent, and praiseworthy; and the Word of God is all of that, and will bring you ever closer to God.

Confession:
My mind is a citadel for God. The strongholds of darkness has lost its grip upon it. It only receives the light of God’s Word. It's continually in agreement with the Spirit of God, willing and ready to do what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. It holds divine realities, and translate them into my physical reality, to the glory of Jesus. Amen.
