The Golden Rule

DAILY VITAMIN
- The Golden Rule
"Do for others what you want them to do for you..." (Matthew 7:12 TLB)
It has been proven times without number that whatever you sow daily is what life gives back to you. It's an eternal principle that is valid both before God and man. God promised that seed time and harvest shall never cease; and whatever you sow is what you reap, however you judge is how you shall be judged, and whichever way you act is how you shall be acted upon.
Matthew 5:7 tells us that those who are kind and merciful towards others shall receive the same kind of treatment in their time of need. This alone should gear you up to participate in living a good life that favours both divinity and humanity; because even God responds towards us in the light of how we respond to others (Psalm 18:25-26).
Lamentations 1:3 tells us that Judah was only receiving what she had served others for years. It says "Why is Judah led away, a slave? Because of all the wrong she did to others, making them her slaves..." (TLB). And so, when we choose to live in a way that is condescending as it regards others, all of life will always find a way to conspire to bring us to that same position of life where others will also step all over us as we had done to them. It's a divine principle. To the good, good shall be supplied; but to the wicked, wickedness shall be supplied (Isaiah 48:21-22).
That is why the sun will never be in darkness. The whole cosmos may be covered with a variety of darkness but never the sun. Whatever gives light can never be darkened. And the scripture says that you are children of the light, so behave like it (Ephesians 5:8). Understand that your good works are never in vain, and keep pouring out yourself to do good wherever you can; because in the same measures you mete shall it be meted back unto you.
"Try to show as much compassion as your Father does. Never criticize or condemn-or it will all come back on you. Go easy on others; then they will do the same for you. For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give- large or small -will be used to measure what is giving back to you." (Luke 6:36-38 TLB)

Prayer:
Lord, I pray for the grace to live a good life before God and men. I ask for the strength to express the love of God in all my affairs. I ask that by your Spirit you fine-tune me until my external displays in life continually and completely resembles Christ's every day of my life, in Jesus Name. Amen
