The Believer’s Authority

DAILY VITAMIN
- The Believer’s Authority
"Yes, ask anything, using my name, and I will do it!" (John 14:14 TLB)
The Christian is not just any other fellow. He is not an ordinary man. He has been recreated and reborn. He is God's ultimate prize, endowed with all of Him to operate in the power and standard of the God-kind. This is what Jesus achieved on our behalf.
You see, in Noah God reinstated the authority Adam had lost (Genesis 9:1-2), but one thing that wasn't reinstated then was man's sonship to God. As a result of this development, man remained a slave to sin and servant to Satan, thus making his authority over the devil of no effect, because no slave can ever overpower his master. It's an eternal and scriptural principle. But in Christ Jesus, man received the most important gift of all- sonship with God, sealed by His Spirit within him. He identified with him to share in his sin, and identified him with Himself that he might share in His heritage. By this restoration of his identity, man could now live like the god that he truly is in God.
You'd note that before Jesus, devils showed no respect for man; but now they flee. Before Jesus, situations were unresponsive to man's demands; but now they listen. The believer has been given the power, and yes the authority, to subdue and influence all situations. It's what we are recreated to be by virtue of New Birth- sons of God who evoke the works of God on the earth in every way, any way.
Everything is different now. Now in Christ, everything answers to us when we believe enough to declare. When we speak, everything listen. Before Christ, the prophets said "thus says the Lord" by the power of the Spirit and everything listened. Jesus came and said "verily, verily I say unto you" and everything listened. Now in Christ, we say "in the name of Jesus" and everything listens. Glory to God!
We -the believers- are created to influence situations, and not to let them influence us. To change circumstances, and not to let them change us. In short, we are made to be gods in every condition. We have the authority over all innovations of the enemy (Luke 10:19). But what really matters to God isn't that we are made for it, but that we are truly living like it now. Hence, make use of what is naturally yours in Christ. Exercise your authority in Him!

Confession:
In Christ Jesus, I have been placed far above the conditions, circumstances, and culprits bound to pull me down in life. They are subject to me. As soon as they see me, they flee; as soon as they hear me, they obey. In the Name of Jesus, I'm always in charge, and I can do all things indeed. Amen.
