The Power Of The Word (2)

DAILY VITAMIN
- The Power Of The Word (2)
"And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power" (Luke 4:32)

Romans 5:10 tells us that if God was good to us while we were sinners and ignorant, how much more will He be to us now that we are saved? The scriptures affirm this by saying that no eyes have seen nor any ear heard what God has prepared for such as loved Him enough to believe and obey Him (1 Cor 2:9). However, this He reveals to us, and bring into delivery, via the Spirit of His Word. The Word of God is full of power. All things were made and sustained by and through it; and in it is contained all of God's plans and purposes for us. And again we'd be looking at these two other phenomenal things it does in our lives:
(1) It reveals our status in Christ: Activity is strengthened by identity. Whatever we do has its greatest effect only as soon as we know who we are. And just as it showed Christ as was written of Him, it shows us as He has destined for us. David prayed "Open my eyes that I may behold wonderful things from your Word" (Psalm 119:18). The Word of God shows us all God says and sees concerning us. It opens the eyes of our understanding, and enlightens our spirits, to the true riches of His grace and calling over our lives. And what does it say of us? Romans 5 says "The sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to be king over all, but all who will take God's gift of forgiveness and acquittal are kings of life because of this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam's sin brought punishment to all, but Christ's righteousness makes men right with God, so that they can live" (v.17-18 TLB). It shows us our recreation and renewal now in Christ; and much more it shows us our dominion in Him. So you are no long the dejected or pitiable fellow; No, you aren't! The Bible says "Is it not written in your law, I said, ye are gods? If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:34-35). The Word reveals our godship and gives us the capacity to practice it (John 1:12). It communicates the will and works of God, and helps us to create a reality out of them. All we have to do is get conscious of it to live in its full manifestation.
(2) It delivers our inheritance in Christ: Everything God does, He does by the Word of His grace. His Word compels His Spirit to gather it into materiality (Isaiah 34:16). By it, He gives us our rightful heritage in Christ (Acts 20:32). The Word holds light, but only those who pursue this light to its depth by engaging themselves in the Word will eventually shine. David said he treasures God's Word like precious jewels, because truly in it is worth much more (Psalm 119:162). This he could boldly declare having seen how in the midst of his afflictions, the Word resuscitated and rejuvenated him back to wellness (Psalm 119:50). And God told Joshua that it is the only route to good success and prosperity.
God's Word will do for you what nothing else can; remember in the Word is a light bearing life that shines in the darkness and secures your victory (John 1:4-5). Therefore, feed your life on it.

Confession:
The Word of God is true, and so is everything God says about me. My circumstances may not agree with it, or even more display it, but I believe it. My life is ordered out of the Word, and so are my steps and stops. Today and forever, my life shall continously be a reflection of God's Word, in Jesus Name. Hallelujah!
