The Power Of Praise

DAILY VITAMIN
- The Power Of Praise
"And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten." (2 Chro 20:22)
The Disciples knew the power of praise and worship; and this they learned from Jesus. Notice what Jesus did when He got to Lazarus' tomb; He gave glory to God, and the dead man came walking. When He got the five loaves, He gave glory to God for them, and it fed thousands. Praise is a great tool on the lips of those who know how to give it.
When we praise God, we create platforms to be raised. When we do it, we open up portals of abundant and supernatural happenings for ourselves in this mortal time. In prayer, we fight, but in praise we celebrate. When we praise God, we walk out of the battlefield to let God go in and win the victory on our behalfs. And just as the apostles made the best out of it then, we also can relish in its efficacy now. And today, we'd look at two important things we can achieve on the pedestal of praise:
1) Praise brings God into our very reality: When we commemorate each event of our lives with praise and worship unto God, God gets involved in them on our behalf. The scriptures say that Abraham kept giving glory to God, and what seemed dead in his life came alive (Romans 4:20-22). We are also told of Paul's experience in Acts 16; about how he and Silas praised God at midnight, and as a result had their bonds loosed. As we render praises unto God even in difficult moments, He shows Himself strong on our behalf - exactly what our theme scripture tells us. The people didn't even have to lift a sword, yet they gathered the spoils; because while they were busy praising, God was busy fighting in their place. When we thank Him for what He has done and can do, we usher Him in to do much more. More so, we get soaked with His presence every time we praise Him. Look at what happened with Elisha. Everything seemed so hazy that he couldn't even perceive what God had to tell him, but as soon as the minstrel came in and began ministering in worship to the Lord, it was as though heaven poured down into their realities (2 Kings 3:15), and he encountered the very mind of God. The same experience the Christians in Antioch shared (Acts 13:2). Now, if praise could do that under the Old Covenant, as we could see in glimpses through the apostles' lives how much more now that we have complete access to God through the New Covenant in Christ? It will cause us to walk in the very frequency of God's power.
2) Praise unlocks potentials: A river may not seem like an energy producing tool until a dam is created around it. Only then will this natural phenomenon become a dynamo for energy creation. That's also how praise works; it brings us to the place of unprecedented progress and eternal recreation. It creates the liberty from God through us to work beyond our limits. That's why the scripture says that as soon as the people praise God, the earth will yield its increase and they the blessings (Psalm 67:5-8). It says that because of it the land and the people will be blessed. This happens because praise brings the working power of God into activity through us. And by this, there's no condition that we wouldn't be able to overcome. Psalm 149:6-8 says "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth...to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishment upon the people; to bind their kings with chain..." So you see, the quickest way to subjugate the power of the enemy is by praising God. Remember, the weapons of our warfare are not physical; and as we worship and praise Him, thereby make Him bigger in our hearts, the enemy becomes smaller in our eyes and lives. In short, it will bring out the giant in you. Examine David's approach as he faced off with Goliath; He gave glory to God, and then subjugated the enemy.
Therefore, having seen that with praise you can get to places with God you could never have been, what are you going to do now? Well, if I were you, I would have those high praises in my heart and mouth right now, and I will worship Him: for the time has come when those who seek to see God as all He is must worship Him in truth and with their spirit.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you because you're always working on my behalf even when I have no idea what's happening around me. I thank you because you are faithful at all times. I praise you and honor you because you're Lord in my life, and You will be forever. You are my God, and there's none like you. Receive all my praise, in Jesus Name. Amen.
