Access Has Been Given

DAILY VITAMIN
- Access Has Been Given
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it]." (Hebrew 4:16 AMP)
In the Old Testament, no man except consecrated priests could approach God's holy place and live; thus we see the tragedy of Uzzah. Even his good intentions couldn't help him because access was denied. But in Christ, everything is different. It's been granted.
In prophecy of the days of God's redemption of His people, Jeremiah said "They will have their own ruler again. He will not be a foreigner. And I will invite him to be a priest at my altars, and he shall approach me, for who would dare to come unless invited. And you shall be my people, and I will be your God" (30:21-22 TLB). He says now at this time, we shall be closer as can be. And this happened because He drew us in (John 6:44).
Moses enjoyed a glimpse of it, but in the grace of Christ we have the full package by simply putting our trust in Him (Romans 5:2). Now He says we have full access to the Father by His Holy Spirit within us (Eph 2:18). That is, we have the access code to God's holiest place that no one could enter under the Old Covenant. Jesus tore down the veil of separation, and made us all who believe like Himself, so that as He enjoys eternal fellowship with the Father, we also might enjoy it by His Spirit (Gal 4:6-7).
All this is because of His kindness towards us. "And now, through Christ, all the kindness of God has been poured out upon us undeserving sinners...And you, dear friends in Rome, are among those he dearly loves; you, too, are invited by Jesus Christ to be God’s very own—yes, his holy people." (Romans 1:5-6 TLB). Seeing He couldn't watch us perish, He therefore has given us every right to be as He is in Himself. He has invited us into His Sonship - both us and as many as will believe.
So, He says "Come all ye that labour [and because of such futility have been heavy laden] and I will give you rest" (Matt 11:28). What many a patriarch never enjoyed, God's grace has made accessible to us in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for such a privilege to be closer to You as possible. Thank you for the grace for access into your deep fellowship. I pray that as I continue to walk with you in this sweet communion, that you help me to become more and more like you, in Jesus' Name. Amen
