Think On The Word

DAILY VITAMIN
- Think On The Word
"My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them" (Proverbs 4:20-22 AMP)
Philippians 4:8 tells us to fix our minds (thought patterns) on things that are pure, excellent and winsome to truly have a victorious life every day of our lives. And there's nothing more pure, excellent and winsome than God's Word.
As such, until our thoughts are in line with what the Word says, our lives cannot be in sync with what the Word says. Remember, only those who think the Word live the Word; for as he thinks....so he is (Proverbs 23:7).
Even Paul shows us this in his letter to the Ephesian church. He says that the bridge between the old, unrenewed, perverted and disdainful life you may have had and the new, renewed, virtuous and victorious life that can be yours is in the renewal of the thoughts and attitudes you embody (Eph 4:22-24). In other words, to live a good life, you need to think the good thoughts. Thus, our opening text comes to mind again.
We can focus only on uplifting thoughts because it is exactly what Jesus did. He was a positive person, and had no dark alley in His mind; and still doesn't. He was in every way [like] God, who is good and no evil can be found in (James 1:17). So, Jesus thought only good and constructive thoughts. Notice that even when He was betrayed and beaten, only good proceeded out of His mouth, because His heart was good (see Luke 6:45). And the scripture says we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16). Thus this means that if Jesus became full of glory, we also can if we keep walking how He walked; and we know He thought the Word, walked the Word and lived the Word, because He is the Word. We also can think the Word, walk the Word, and live the Word, because as He is so are we in this world (1 John 4:17).
But first of all, you have to block your mind from every thought that doesn't agree with what the Word says about you. They may fly over your mind-scape and heart, but don't give them a landing space; for if you do, they will create a harvest in semblance to their source- the devil. Instead, sow God's Word in the field of your mind so as to yield the life designed from the Word.

Confession:
By the Power of the Spirit within me, I take control of my mind, and bring it into the obedience of Christ. So therefore, I think only God's thoughts. I think only positive thoughts, winsome and excellent thoughts that adds value to life. I harbor thoughts that brew eternal life and hope. Yes, I do this all through the power of Christ Jesus. Amen
