The Power Of His Presence

DAILY VITAMIN
- The Power Of His Presence
"So David became greater and greater, for the Lord God of heaven was with him" (2 Samuel 5:10 TLB)
The very story of David tells of the awesome power of God. And this we know was evident because God's presence never departed from him. The scripture says that the Jordan fled and the mountains skipped before the people of Israel because of His presence with them (Ps 114). This is the same presence that guarantees our liberty wherever we go (2 Corinthians 3:17). And we see this exhibited in David's story. Our theme verse tells us that David's greatness was tied to God's presence. And so is ours; remember "Without Me, you can do nothing" (John 15:5).
In that same chapter, we see how David defeated the Philistines again. Recall that he had downed Goliath some years back because he had God fighting on his side; now it was happening again. The Philistines had gathered to attack him, but he completely ravaged them, and told us how. He said "The Lord did it" (v.20 TLB). However, the Philistines wouldn't give up, and assembled again to fight, and this time around God told David to hide behind the Balsam trees. Nonetheless get this: He said to him but as soon as he hears footsteps coming from above the Balsam trees, then he should attack the enemy and would sure be victorious (v.23-24).
Who else could walk upon trees and the airy space? Those footsteps were God's. Remember, He promised to walk and be with us till the end of time; and He is still as ready to accompany you against any given challenge. God’s presence guarantees victory. Scripture says He will rend the heavens and quake the earth for the welfare of His people (Isaiah 64:1-3). His presence ushers awesome happenings; and He will do the same for you. All you have to do is get conscious of His presence, and trust Him to come through for you, because He is in you and with you to help you.
Even Jeremiah came to his breaking point, his own moment of weakness, when He thought God had abandoned him. But God told him to stop thinking such foolish thoughts, for though the enemy will attack him, they will not conquer him because He is with him to protect and deliver him (see Jeremiah 15:19-20). He has promised to never leave nor forsake you. He says you will never be anywhere His presence cannot keep you safe. In short, His presence will affirm your safety.
Hence, with this understanding, delight yourself in His presence, knowing that even though you walk through dark valleys or through the fire, you will come forth unscathed, for God is with you (Psalm 23:4, Isaiah 43:2). Praise God!

Confession:
Thank you Lord Jesus because you have promised to be with me to the end of time. You will never leave me nor forsake me. Your presence will guide and help me in all I do. Your Spirit gives me the advantage because He brings me into the reality of your person. And because of this, I'm untouchable by the enemy. Because of this, I cannot fail or be disappointed. Because of this, I walk daily in the glory of God. As I live everyday conscious of your presence, everything that answers to You will answer to me. Hallelujah! Amen
