It's Going To Take Some Courage

DAILY VITAMIN
- It's Going To Take Some Courage
"Be of good courage; and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD will do that which seemeth Him good" (1 Sam 10:12)
Faith comes with courage. And there can be no pursuit without it. Furthermore, desire dies in the absence of courage. The Israelis, as we see from our opening scripture, were clearly outnumbered, yet they didn't give in to the intimidation. They strove with all they had until they began to thrive where they didn't have anything. Outnumbered, yet they conquered. Frightened, yet they pursued.
What do you think was responsible for this? Joab tells us it was courage. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the zest to venture regardless of fear. It is going against the odds. As I said it isn't fearlessness; it is simply boldness in the midst of fear and flight.
Right now, you might be scared to try out that new business plan, or to commit to someone new after several heartbreaks. You might be scared to unravel your talent before your critics. Well, while you do have every reason to be scared, you still have none not to try; because unless you try, you will never know all you can be. Uncertainty is frightening, but complacency is much more disheartening. If you're going to be someone better and different, you're going to have to do things better and differently, and it's going to take some courage.
Comfortability isn't a blessing if it keeps you lesser than you can be. So don't be comfortable with your inferior state, have the courage to stand strong till you get what you desire. And yes you do have every reason to be confident as you take courage against your fears on these new grounds; for God is with you, and would cause you to flow in ceaseless victory (Jeremiah 20:11). Unlike the eventual attitude of the prophet in Jeremiah 20, we have to take the courage to believe that it will all work out well till the very end. Amen.

Prayer:
Precious Holy Spirit, I ask that you empower with courage to face my fears, to tread new paths, and to overcome all challenges. I receive grace to do the things you expect of me regardless of our frightening they seem; and so shall it be in Jesus' Name. Amen
