What's Christmas To You?

DAILY VITAMIN
- What's Christmas To You?
"But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people. For to you is born this day in the town of David a Savior, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!" (Luke 2:9-10 AMP)
What is Christmas to you? Is it just a holiday where red seems to be the colour in vogue? Or one whereby Santa Claus always seem to gain some level of viable existence in your mind? Is it just the day of carols? Or one in which the chicken tends to become popular?
Your perception of things becomes your conception of the same, and later on your reality of it. So if truly we claim to mark the memorial of Christ's birth on this day, then Christmas should be a day of revealing Christ to the world; a day of expressing Him to all. As the angel said "a day of great joy which will come to all the people [who receive Him].
In other words, since Jesus' ministry on earth was to show the God kind of love to the weary soul, to give hope to the hapless, and to deliver the sin-singed fellow, we must make it our priority to express love to as many that require some little loving- the orphans, the sick, the widows, the unloved, the suffering, the abandoned, the homeless, the inferior at heart, the poor, the unbelieving. This is the time to stand as a representation of hope to as many that have given up on life. This is that moment to come to the aid of as many as need help whether financially, physically, medically, and spiritually; so that when we all go back indoors to feast on our prepared meals, we can rest at heart that every person given to us by God to cause a change in their lives have the same joy only God can give the same way we do.
This way Christmas becomes more of re-living the life of Christ than living in our narcissistic frame under the camouflage of Christ. Thus, I wish you the best of the season, believing that as many see the Reason for the season (Christ) in you this period and forever, the impartation of Christ in your life never would cease.
Hence, show the world what Christmas should really be like - not just an eating spree, but an ultimate memorial and revelation of Christ to the world through you, in you and by you. Do have a Merry Christmas!
