What Are You Believing?

DAILY VITAMIN
- What Are You Believing?
"Then I went in too, and saw, and believed [that he had risen]" (John 20:8 TLB)
In this particular scripture, we see that while two people saw the same thing, their perspective, their insight and their belief regarding it differed. Both Mary and John saw an empty tomb, but while Mary believed Jesus had been exhumed by the Jewish antagonists, John believed He had risen. And we see their response to this omen of life immediately. While John and Peter returned home, Mary stayed crying on. However, as soon as her eyes were enlightened and she saw the Lord, she was much more enthused than the other disciples had ever been that they almost even began to doubt what they had once believed.
That's exactly how life is to each and every one of us every day. We all look, but only we can independently decide what we see from the picture we beheld. When life throws tantrums at you, do you see a disappointment, or an appointment for God to display His glory?
Jesus said that a man's condition is not to desecrate his person, but to bring glory to God (John 9:2-3). So, it's always more than just what meets the eye. Remember, as you believe in your heart, so are you (Proverbs 23:7). Even life will respond to you according to what you have believed. It is God's standard for living (Matt 9:29).
So again, I'm asking you, what are you currently believing about your situation? Remember again that your stance in any situation isn't dependent on the circumstances surrounding it, but on your faith regarding it. So if you think you are defeated because the odds seem to be against you, you are defeated. You, alone, can sign the final deed of what God has declared to be yours, or what the enemy has designed to make it not. Only you. Recall Jesus' words, blessed are you if you believe even though you haven't seen it yet (John 20:29).
So, no matter what it may be my friend- whether you just lost a job, or buried a child, or got downsized, keep the faith; believing that God will cause light to break out of that present darkness soon enough. Praise God!

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you because all things are as you have said and not how they seem to appear presently. I believe that in spite of my present challenges, I will experience a breakthrough. Your grace makes this available and true; and so I declare my walk in victory even though I may find myself in the valley of shadows of death today. This I believe and pray in Jesus' Name. Amen
