Tears Won't Do

DAILY VITAMIN
- Tears Won't Do
"They wept until they could weep no more" (1 Sam 30:4 TLB)

From our theme verse, we can deduce that these men must have cried for hours until their tears gland ran dry, but as the subsequent verse said it brought nothing but grief and bitterness to them. You see, as much as pain demands to be felt, our submission to it brings no solution. In fact, if crying could solve problems, the whole world would gladly cry a river if it would stop the anarchy in the Middle East and the poverty in the world at large.
In reality, tears don't do much, and David understood this; which is why while others petered out from the path of courage and into grief, he encouraged himself with the belief that he had God on his side to help him. And so he enquired from the LORD what he should do to recover all he'd lost (v. 8). That's the simple secret behind obtaining solutions - conversing with God, not cowering in tears.
A lot of people believe tears move God, but truly it doesn't. It might be cathartic, but not effective when it comes to receiving from God. A lot of people cried in scripture but not all got touched. That is because only an approach of faith moves God (Heb 6:12).
For instance, the Bible said Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, but that wasn't why He stopped to attend to him. Jesus stopped because the blind man had called Him the Son of David, which signified His being the Christ. The blind man could see this truth, not by sight, but by faith. So, faith stopped Jesus, not tears. And this is further proven in that Jesus asked him what he desired; and that according to his faith it will be done for him (Matt 9:28-29).
You see, as much as God cares about us, He doesn't want to know about our problems in teary-eyed fashion, He wants to know what we want so that He can solve our problems. Thus, in this last days of the year, no matter how things has been thus far, don't spend your time battering yourself in pity and tears; rather ask of the Lord that which you desire believing, and stay encouraged because you will receive it before the year winds up.
"And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him" (1 John 5:14-15 AMP)

Prayer:
God, I thank you because you always hear me every time I call upon you. Once again, I have come to ask that you meet me at the point of my needs [specify your request] even as this year draws to an end. I believe it is done even now and forever, in Jesus' Name. Amen
