Peace With God

DAILY VITAMIN
- Peace With God
"Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold and to [b]enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)." (Romans 5:1 AMP)

By studying the deteriorating story of Saul, you sort of like pity him. Having conversed with Samuel through the medium at Endor, he realized he was to die the next day, but in spite of all the remorse he felt he couldn't make peace with God. He might have thought of it, but he couldn't do it. He couldn't find access to God even though he had a one day headstart. But this is the thing; this inaccessibility to God wasn't all of Saul's doing, it was an Old Testament flaw. Even God said that He blocked the eyes of such men from conceiving the way and their hearts from understanding it lest they should return back to Him (Isaiah 6:10). So it isn't a matter of if they wanted to or not, but that they couldn't.
But then came Jesus, who has restored unto us all the rewards of sonship with God. Now we can access God's presence freely, as Adam once enjoyed before the fall, filled with tranquility that His love for us is in excess. This may not have been shown under the Old Covenant, but in Jesus it is greatly revealed. Under the Old System, the common people couldn't enter into God's holiest place, but in Christ that has been resolved (Hebrew 9:8,15; 10:10,14). This is because the Bible says that by Jesus we can now enter His throne of grace boldly to receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrew 4:16).
Saul couldn't do that. Even Moses could only have a glimpse of that. There was always still an element of fear as he approached God's presence; but Jesus has brought us into the fullness of His fellowship with the Father. He has made us as children in His court that will in no wise ever be cast away (John 6:37). That is, He doesn't despise us; rather He seeks to receive and teach us.
Isn't that just great news? Isn't it awesome to know that God has drawn us into His rest, free from all our burdens and heavy laden? It is. God has given you and I every right to approach Him at all times because of what Jesus has done; greater than what any Levitical priests were ever privileged to experience. And this is because in Christ now we are eternal priests unto God as He is, who shall rule and reign with God forever (Rev 5:10). This is the Good News about Jesus: that He died, was buried, and resurrected that all who believe in Him may be made one with God.
And just in case you want to know what gives Jesus the impetus to accomplish such feats, here's what His rĂ©sume reads: "Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them." (Hebrew 7:25 AMP). In the Old Covenant God hid Himself from many, but now in Christ He has revealed Himself without limit; and by the fruit of Christ's sacrifice has brought us to be at peace with Him.
"And He came and preached the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off and [peace] to those who were near. For it is through Him that we both [whether far off or near] now have an introduction (access) by one [Holy] Spirit to the Father [so that we are able to approach Him]. Therefore you are no longer outsiders (exiles, migrants, and aliens, excluded from the rights of citizens), but you now share citizenship with the saints (God's own people, consecrated and set apart for Himself); and you belong to God's [own] household." (Eph 2:17-19 AMP) .
Hence, rest at ease, you have peace with God; you are a new creation, and His home is now your home. Glory to God!

Confession:
Thank you Lord Jesus for I have peace with God through your sacrifice. My past has no more hold over me. I'm no longer offensive to God. I am the pleasure of His delight. I am a new creation, and a semblance of His person. Thank you Jesus.
