Wake Up!

DAILY VITAMIN
- Wake Up!
"When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, 'At home, even the hired men have food enough and to spare, and here I am, dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you" (Luke 15:17-18 TLB)
There's a big difference between giving up and waking up. While one is retrogressive, the other is progressive. You just have to learn to tell the difference.
Not every journey has to be completed. In fact, unless it's the right one, it would be wise to get back to our senses before it becomes irreparable. For instance, when you've been on the wrong path for so long and decide to quit, you aren't giving up. Literally, you're actually waking up.
A lot of people are still asleep with the delusion that their motion automatically means all is going as it should. In fact, it doesn't matter what you amass in life, any life that leaves you with an iota of regret as you stand between the thin line that separates mortality from eternity shows that something was wrong, and it isn't worth it. I'm not trying to say that people don't make mistakes, but continuously living in the path of mistake even after you've realized it is the real problem. And so in this case, any life that steals away the light that could have been yours isn’t truly yours to live according to God's word.
There is a life that is beyond you, and leaving every other thing you invested yourself in for it is never a loss. And that is the Kingdom Life. Jesus said it is like a treasured piece which a man sells all he has to purchase (Matt 13:44). It is the truth you must seek to keep and not sell off (Pro 23:23). It's worth it all.
It's where your true light lies (see Ephesians 5:14). And just so you know, it doesn't have to mean you doing church work 24/7; remember God has given us various abilities according to His plan (Ephesians 4:7), however it does have to mean doing what God wants you to every day. And there's greater news: You're never too old to get on this band wagon- to take this step. And this is important, because the value of your life isn't accorded by how long you lived, but by how long you lived woken up. This is because only those who are awake can live life as well as God wants them to.
So, it's okay to quit a task if it's taking you more farther from God's will than closer. It is okay to start afresh even if you are already a long way ahead. As long as it gets you the life you were born and destined to live, it is okay. Recall what Jesus said, the road that leads to nothingness is wide; a lot of persons pass through it, and so we tend to assume it might be the right way. Perhaps, where you presently are and what you're presently doing may just be your own broad road.
So, think hard, and answer this question as honestly as you can: Are you presently on the right path? If not, please do yourself a favour and wake up. There's a greater life awaiting you, but you may never get to find it unless you come to your senses again, and come awake.
