There's Life In The New Covenant

DAILY VITAMIN
- There's Life In The New Covenant
"I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the person whose ears are open to My words [who listens to My message] and believes and trusts in and clings to and relies on Him Who sent Me has (possesses now) eternal life. And he does not come into judgment [does not incur sentence of judgment, will not come under condemnation], but he has already passed over out of death into life." (John 5:24 AMP)

All through the Old Testament, God seemed hard to reach. People could only exercise one feeling before Him- fear; and there was no actual proof that men were saved. But then the breach was broken, the veil removed, and the obstruction to our worship deposed; all comeuppance that were experienced in our communion with God were put aside, as the Son was now being offered and His Spirit given.
Those old days encouraged a regime of fear and wrath that hindered many from enjoying the fullness of God's love; but that's what Jesus came to put to bed. The New Testament promotes love. It shows us the deepness of God's perfect grace to all who believe on Him through the person of His Son Jesus. These ones are enlisted into a New Covenant, a life-giving way of life; they share of His Spirit and become one with Him.
And here's the good news, we are now in that life-giving covenant. "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:17). And the scripture goes ahead to tell us that it shall be glorious, more glorious than the ancient Patriarchs of faith ever got to experience. "For if the service that condemns [the ministration of doom] had glory, how infinitely more abounding in splendor and glory must be the service that makes righteous [the ministry that produces and fosters righteous living and right standing with God]!" (2 Cor 3:9 AMP). A heavenly glory that shall be culminated in eternal life with God.
Zechariah painted a picture of the omnipotency of this Covenant as it is given to draw men out of the dry bottomless pit and deliver double-folded consolations to them (9:11-12). It is by far the only reason why we can audaciously access the Kingdom of God; for in it we are no longer slaves but sons of God (John 1:12). And how did we get here? "...because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth" (2 Thess 2:13).
By choosing to believe Jesus we were sanctified by His Spirit unto salvation, thereby making us part of the family of God, and one with the God-Kind. Our sins have been forgiven and put out of sight. As our theme verse says, we have passed from death unto life. O how greatly the Elijahs of this world would desire to be where we are- raised from nothing to the centre of the fullness of His grace (Ephesians 2:5-6), from being least to the epitome of His greatness (Matt 11:11), and from being partakers to custodians of God's blessings (Hebrews 11:39-40); all because of the Covenant of life He's placed us in Christ.
Now that you've received it, go ahead and tell others they can as well primarily by simply believing in Him who saves us all. "For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed in (trusted in) God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness (right living and right standing with God)." (Romans 4:3 AMP). Glory to God! We are in that life.
