There Is No Shame In Waiting

DAILY VITAMIN
- There Is No Shame In Waiting
"Wait for and expect the Lord and keep and heed His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; [in the end] when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it." (Psalm 37:34 AMP)
Waiting on the Lord is never a vain exercise; nor a waste of time, because God will always do what He has promised to do. And so we don't wait unto frustration but unto manifestations. In it, we are equipped with all the grace to be resilient as eagles (Isaiah 40:31) so as not to lose any ground by Him who is able to cause us to have everything we could ever need (2 Cor 9:8). If this be so, then why do we shriek at the place of waiting for God?
I know God has given you promises, and perhaps they haven't all come true yet, nevertheless that's not a reason to fret, but one to rejoice in; because God's promises can all but stay unfulfilled as long as we are where and doing what He expects of us.
Let these words of His through Isaiah encourage you. "And kings shall be your foster fathers and guardians, and their queens your nursing mothers. They shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know [with an acquaintance and understanding based on and grounded in personal experience] that I am the Lord; for they shall not be put to shame who wait for, look for, hope for, and expect Me." (Isaiah 49:23 AMP).
Did you see that? There's no shame in waiting for God, and it will never lead to one. I read the story of Lily O'Hanlon a few days back. She was a missionary who had received a promise of God to take the gospel to the plains of Nepal which at that point would receive no Christian missionaries. For 19 years, she waited, prayed, praised God, and hung on to His Word, and all of a sudden, God created a path for them through which they received the grand fulfillment of the promise and won many to God.
For 19 years, can you believe that? However, the promise did not fail, because it doesn't (2 Cor 1:20). When it seemed like a waste of time, it turned out to be worth her while. The same thing can be said of Caleb who waited for 45 years but still found the promises of God as unfailing and ever true. The fact that it hasn't happened doesn't mean it won't happen. You can get one of our books "When God's Time Starts To Seem Not Like The Best" to understand more about how God's promises will never fail regardless of the limitations of time; and why waiting for Him will always prove productive. Well, I'll leave you with these: The scriptures urges us to live in thanksgiving in all circumstances as it is what God desires of us (1 Thess 5:18); but do you know why? He tells us why. "Faithful is He that promised, He will also surely do it (v. 24).
