Never Settle For Less

DAILY VITAMIN
- Never Settle For Less
"Then Terah took his son Abram.....and left Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; but they stopped instead at the city of Haran and settled there." (Genesis 11:31 TLB)
Never give up when you should be striving on in order to stay thriving. Never forget that!
In the light of that, the children of Israel in the days of Samuel the Judge said that they desired "to be like the other nations" (1 Sam 8:20), even when God had already made them greater than all the other nations. Can you believe that? And does that already remind you of someone you know? Remember, generations ago, they had assumed they were like grasshoppers in contrast to their adversaries when in God's eyes it was really the other way around.
Ironically, that's still exactly how a lot of people behave today, even Christians. We tend to accept the available at the expense of the desired; thereby settling for less than what God says we are. We want to be like others when God is saying we can be more; and we so hold tightly to that idea that we eventually lose awareness of our true potentials, and thus shutting off the light to the manifestation of God's ideal for us.
Speaking about you and I- His chosen people, God says that the least (weakest) among them shall be as King David, and the strongest shall be like God (Zechariah 12:8). So, God is saying that the least we are designed to be is as great as a king in the sight of God and men, while the best we are made to be is as God Himself. It may not be your current reality, but it's your eternal destiny.
Remember that we are made in His image and of His nature by the Spirit of God; and as He is, so we are also in this world. Adam never understood this, and neither did Israel, and as such they spent precious energy in pursuit of a life lesser in glory than He had prepared them for. Also, note that trying to subvert God's ideal for you as they did is actually only choosing to live a substandard life when placed in parallel to what you could be in Him.
Hence, I want you to know that we can be better and do better, because in Him we are better than we think. By the Spirit of God you're more than you think; now you just have to live like it. And this' how: Don't look to men's best when God would have you looking at His. Haran may look great, seem great, but it will never be as great as Canaan is, because that's where God has scheduled you for greatness. So, don't stop, until you get what's top!
   Hallelujah!!!
