Delay Is Never Denial With God

DAILY VITAMIN
- Delay Is Never Denial With God
"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" (Habakkuk 2:3 TLB).
Many a times, it is usually very easy how we unanimously agree that God has forsaken us when things don't go our way even when we were confident that we had His backing that it would. But guess what? One thing I have learned over time, and one thing the Bible consistently and continuously teaches is that God will never leave nor forsake His own in their time of need (Hebrews 13:5). The scriptures call Him the very present help in times of need (Psalm 46:1).
Now, if this be so, then what happened to the people of Israel as they marched against their brother city of Gibeah? In Judges 20, after the Benjaminites had condoned a despicable act done against a levite by some of its people, the people of Israel collectively assembled in pursuit of justice. However, as usual, they sought God's own opinion. They wanted to be sure it was His will; since He gives His maximum support of bringing to pass the contents of His will into reality (1 John 5:14).
So, as I said, they sought Him. And in response, He gave the command that Judah should lead the line into battle for victory. But as they stepped out in their many chivalry of war, they fell to the tyrants of Gibeah. Devastated, they consulted God again, and He told them to go to battle with them. But again, eighteen thousand great soldiers were slain. Finally, they sought Him- fasting and praying; and this time victory was truly theirs.
I know it's easy to think that it was the fasting that facilitated the results; but it's also very important to note that that's how God works often times. The promises of God to you today will not always come to be today. Some times, it may not even materialize tomorrow; but one thing is sure, and that is it will in His time.
With God, there is always such a thing as a waiting period. It may not come when you want it, but it will come. It may not happen how you planned it, but it will. God promised Israel victory, and victory He gave them. It may not have aligned with their calendar, but it did with their lifetime. So it means that indeed His promises are truly yes and amen. It may not seem like it now, but it will be.
Hence, did God promise you a future that can only be dared envisioned by those of aloed breath, but in present tense nothing looks like that? Well, if He said it, believe that He will do it. As I said in the previous note, there is no such thing as a delay or denial with God, in His time He will ensure it happens. "There failed no part of any good thing which the Lord had promised to the house of Israel; all came to pass" (Joshua 21:45).
