Tired Yet Moving!

DAILY VITAMIN
- Tired Yet Moving!
"And Gideon came to the Jordan and passed over, he and the 300 men with him, faint yet pursuing." (Judges 8:4 AMP)
When the two kings of Midian took a glimpse at Gideon, after they had noticed how despite being at the disadvantage and in the minority he still persisted till he caught up with them, they assumed he was the son of a king (see Judges 8:18). But was he? No! Rather he was of the most insignificant family in Manasseh, not to talk more of Israel. But yet he was presumed to be of royalty.
You see, kingship is not a position per se, it is a character trait. It is in the behavioral pattern. Gideon had every reason to give up, but he didn't. He kept moving and conquering just as God keeps on being above all circumstances forever. He was blatantly tired, yet he wouldn't give up. He was rejected twice, yet he couldn't permit himself to stay dejected. His destiny depended greatly on it.
Similarly, do you ever feel tired and despondent after a while when it seems like nothing is coming forth of your constant efforts as you had imagined? Well, the problem isn't in getting tired, but in letting tiredness get the best of you. The human body is liable to get tired, but only your human will can choose to let it stay that way. So, what are you choosing every day? Don't choose self-pity. Pity was never intended for self, because it is never empowering. Instead, choose to be like Jesus, and keep on pushing till victory is yours. Jesus was tired, but He didn't let the cross keep Him down; He kept on moving for the joy that laid ahead of Him. He kept moving till He got to His place of glory.
As you can see then, you can't afford to give up now. Hard times demand hard characters. Resilience and persistence are what you need now instead of whining. You may be tired but you need to keep moving. You need to keep pushing because the time of favour is near. Others may faint, but when you refuse to, you receive a whole new level of renewal in life and destiny. That is the destiny of those who trust God to come through for them if they stay strong (Isaiah 40:31).
Job also said that he may feel tired...like giving up, but he will keep on waiting strong until his change suddenly appears. Change comes with time used effectively; and these times require resilient and consistent efforts to stay afloat regardless of the present storm. There must be a zest to remain on your feet. And so, when you feel like not praying, that is the time to push yourself to pray. When you feel like not doing anything, that is the time to do something. Life will never respond to you according to how circumstances are, but according to how we react in those circumstances.
You can be more if you will only refuse to remain comfortable where you are, because until you become uncomfortable with the available, you may never pursue the desirable. Hence, don't stop where life keeps you, keep moving till you get to where God will have you. And so, as Martin Luther King Jr. famously once said, by all means fly; but if you can't fly, make sure you're walking; and if you can't walk, make sure you're crawling; but by all means also no matter what, just make sure that in spite of how weaker you may get that you will keep on moving.
