Jesus Will Give You Rest

DAILY VITAMIN
- Jesus Will Give You Rest
"In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength" (Isaiah 30:15)
Complaining has never done any man good other than reminding him of far away he is from the ideal life he presumes should be his. In fact, there is actually one thing complaining does- it reveals just how much doubt you have in God. And that's why He loathes complaining and murmuring, because it reflects doubt rather than faith.
However, how does this then affect us? Every time we complain or murmur, we get bitten (Numbers 21:5-6). Every time we let it rule over us, we let doubt sink us under, thereby keeping us from realities that were and could have been ours.
So, how do we overcome these bites and retrograding occurrences the compliant syndrome brings? God gave the answer as the only way out to the Israelis. And that is, by looking unto the One who was hung for our sakes- Jesus; for as many as look unto Him live.
You see, whatever the devil knows has been your weakness is what he will keep bringing your way. He won't change his tactics until you change your character. And since he knows complaining is one way to get many children of the Kingdom to live below their rightful heritage, he will keep giving you more reasons to complain. But you mustn't give in. Rather than complain, channel all that emotion and energy into trusting Jesus to pull you through from any kind of such situations; because the only way to beat the compliant syndrome is to stop looking at the situation or factors creating the complaints, and start focusing on Jesus. You will beat the system by changing direction.
In Isaiah 31:8, we are told that our swords can never defeat the Assyrians, but that only the sword of God do so. That means that it is crazy to be angry with yourself because your efforts didn't pay off, because as scripture says it is not by our power nor by our might, but by God’s (Zech 4:6). Only God can change your situation. You have a responsibility to do the best you can, but only He can make that best count. Only His sword can strike down the current challenges, not your complaints, or your murmurs, and definitely not your rebellion.
Uzziah as a king became great because he was marvelously helped by God (2 Chro 26:15). God is also ready to help you. He says you should come boldly to His throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help in your every time of need (Hebrew 4:16); but that's very impossible unless you've decided to turn all your attention and trusting energy towards Jesus. Take the load of "can do it all" off from yourself, and leave it for Jesus, and He says He will take care of you (Matt 11:28).
Therefore, don't murmur anymore no matter how bleak things may look, rather focus on trusting and praising God. It is our covenant duty, as it is His covenant desire to see us in all round rest; and in doing so, you'll find it all turning to your favour again and again and again.
