Overcoming Problems (2)

DAILY VITAMIN
- Overcoming Problems (2)
"Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43: 18-19 AMP)
For every time we read the story of Jacob, we fall in love with the part where he changes his ways before God and man, and completely rescinds from his supplanting; we love how wrestled with angels; had a change of name, and became a great man like his father and grandfather.
And while in the euphoria of those moments, we willfully forget about the part when he suffered, had difficulties and problems; and to top it all up ran away from his own brother and uncle afterwards.
In other words, we forget the fact that prior to his successes, Jacob really had gigantic problems. He didn't have an easy life even though he came out with a victorious one.
To drift a bit from that, after Jacob's death, and years passed on, the generation of Jacob found themselves as slaves in Egypt where they once ate bread to their satisfaction. And that was where their own problems began! But as years continued to pass by, God intervened through the hands of a man, and delivered them from their captors.
Now this is where I am coming at: From the exodus out of Egypt to the days of the Kings, you'd realize that Israel occupied more masses of the earth than Jacob previously did years back. In other words, they expanded exponentially; in that though Jacob inhabited Canaan, but not as its owner- only in his own tent and confined portion, but when Israel returned from its captivity, it became the land owner.....living in it without the other past six host nations.
Thus, if Israel hadn't gone into captivity, he wouldn't have be spurred toward expansion. So theoretically, the problems of Israel were his mechanism for greatness. Ironic, right? May not be logical or appealing, but we'll find that it's true.
On that note, I want to make you understand that regardless of what you are going through, or what people are terming you now, it's going to be alright. Jacob had a more messy life than that. His brothers sought to end his life; his family knew him as the cheat; Mother Earth felt his feet always as the wanderer; his uncle's sons conspired against him because he grew rich; but regardless of all that, what's important was that he didn't die with his problems, rather he outgrew them, and developed above them into a wealthy nation, a fast growing community of kings; and so if Jacob could do it through God, then I believe you can too.
But remember, to be as Israel was, you have to see a stone as a pillow.....hardship as a training......and problems as a stepping stone to build your successes.....overcoming it until your future overshadows the troubles of your yesterdays.
Hence, stay focused..... keeping your mind and heart on what the Word says and not what the situations before you depicts. And with that faith, give your best towards excellence. Stay success-minded even in trouble days....and you will succeed indeed. The problems aren't here to stay, they are only here to have you overcome them. So do that!
