Living Beyond Me

DAILY VITAMIN
- Living Beyond Me
"This, however, is not the way it is among you. If one of you wants to be great, he must be the servant of the rest" (Mark 10:43 GNB)
One epic reason why men do all they do to have all they will to have is for the sake of self-justification. They want to be known and be heard- an ideology that's primarily centered on them alone. Yet, while this reason might seem totally flawless in their sight, it isn't and shouldn't be for the man who has chosen to be an Arch- a principal instrument in the fulfillment of God's purpose on the earth, or rather was called to be one; because for this set, all they do is for the sake of edification.
Some might argue, asking, "Why?"; but the cycle of the cosmic elements teaches us the answer to that question. The sun, for instance, shows us that it doesn't just pop out to shine for the sake of being seen, but to provide light for the children of men, giving them a means of guidance as they work daily. In the same way, you were placed in your surrounding world as a light, not to feel good about yourself, but to show others the way by the light you reveal enough to them. Remember, the value of a bulb isn't in itself, but in what it does for an environment. We are not justified in self, but in all we can do as we were called to do for as many as we can.
Paul writing to the Corinthian church deeply situated in a community of heathens, said ''Let all things be done unto edification'' (1 Corinthians 14:26), knowing that they were saved not by merit, but by grace, and by this same grace upon them could save the lost (see Romans 11:31).
Therefore note that unless your minor and major pursuit and gettings make a positive impact on others, you really did do nothing; for the act of leaving your mark and footprint on the sands of time is pivoted on how well your actions and reactions edified at least one person.
So thus, how much light have you been radiating? And how much of this shine of yours has really reached the men in need of it?
Putting others first doesn't come naturally. It doesn't come easy, it takes a choice. Make a decision today to living beyond yourself by saying yes to God to be the light your community may need in time to come: for that decision, my friend, can really change someone's life.
