- Watch Your Moves
A man's life is somewhat like a chess game, where a wrong move represents a wrong choice. In the game of chess, the aim of the player is to override upon all obstacles to get checkmate; in the same way, every man's ambition and aspiration is to get the Zöe kind of life - the fulfilled life. But just as a wrong pawn move can expose the fragile parts, a wrong choice can alter these big dreams.
And that's why just like chess, the moves we choose to make are the determining factors. for whatever would come our way - a checkmate or a stalemate; and fortunately we have distinct examples from the imprint of the lives of the men of early ages.
For instance, Judas played with his heart off-guards, thinking a little gain could do him good, but that little decision has forever branded him as the symbol of Perdition.
Esther, on the other hand, played with her heart on-guard, yet with a little risk when she dared to do what had never been done before. In the business world, it might have been termed a major risk with high liability expectancy, but in God's 'world', it was perfect business, because she made sure her choices had a cover the moment she told God about it, and got Him involved in it, and look how she ended up - Safe, Sound and Fulfilled.
Our choices make us even in more ways than we make our choices. It is like the natural chisel that shapens us day after day. It makes or mars us. You see, decisions are the beginning of every journey towards destiny. This is because after we have made them, they walk us through the very steps of life we had chosen to tread upon. And as we see, Joshua knew its relevance so much that he knew our choices could take us away from a God who would do anything to have us close.
Having known this now, what are you willing to make of yourself? And this is largely determined by how much of our made choices we willingly let make us. Note, if your choices are Zöe-directional, you get the life you desire, but if Zero-directional, you get nothing of the life you desire; for as it is impossible not to think, so also it is not to make choices, but the issue is really what choices we choose to make.
Hence, what choices are you willing to make? The Zöe's or the Zero's. Remember, where you end up is a product of what moves you made along the way. So, my friend, watch!
