DAILY VITAMIN
- God Knows
"Thus says the Lord, Consider thy ways" (Haggai 1:7)
Most people always want a definition for everything that occurs, or might occur, and when it comes to issues about God, they want an 'up-there' kind of definition, at least that's what they call an ambiguous explanation. Yet unknown to them, God relates to men in a similar way in which we the sons of men relate with one another.
For instance, when a great general dies after several battle victories, a huge 'parliamentarian' funeral would be set up for him; the whole army would stand at attention for him; military rifles would be shot into the open air for him, and most times even a parade, just so that the surrounding world may know that someone who did great works just passed on.....instilling in your mind this feeling to never forget him.
In the same way, God says 'I will never forget any of their works' (Amos 8:7). Whether it be of good or evil, God keeps a record, and the world does too, at least that's what we call legacy.
So as a good general, are you going to keep holding the wall with the LORD, keeping others around you standing and strong in the Lord? Or are you going to go AWOL, abandoning duty and purpose?
God's eyes are always on the children of men, measuring them up according to His will for them, and weigh what they are presently doing to what He predestinated them to do: and in all of this He's keeping tab, never forgetting their works, announcing His trust in such a one to the face of all deities as He did with Job, or His disdain. In the light of this, consider your ways.
Hence, what's it going to be? Are you going to give Him the works He pleases in, that which He detests or nothing at all? But remember He is never going to forget that which you chose to do, and did!
